Staunton Under Pressure

staunton under pressure

Darlington manager Steve Staunton sits down for his weekly board meeting with the Chairman today knowing that the pressure is building for him to change the clubs fortunes around.

Conceeding 19 goals in our last 5 games will do nothing to give the fans encouragement and in all honesty we are becoming a bit of a joke in the football league now.  It is understood that Raj will not be seeking Stauntons head on a stick and Staunton will not be offering it, so they will be trying to work out where the club go from here as Stauntons defensive problems just get worse.

Andrew Milne looks set to head back to Leeds United after playing only a game and a half for the club.  He picked up an injury away at Torquay along with fellow central defender Mark Bower.  With Ian Miller carrying a hamstring injury and Steve Foster sitting out due to his contract wrangle, Staunton has very limited choices in defence.  Not a good thing considering our already dire position!
