Foster Contract Problems

foster contract problems

Darlington captain Steve Foster has been dropped from the squad after it was revealed that if he plays another two games for the club he will be offered a contract extension, something which the club are no thinking they cannot justify.

In the summer Foster made the brave decision to stay at a club which could possibly have not had a future.  In his contract negotiations a deal was brokered whereas if he stayed fit and played 20 games for the club then he would earn another deal.  Unfortunately times at the club have changed and no doubt he will still be earning a decent wage and with the club possibly plying our trade out of the football league Steve Staunton is wary of triggering this clause.

With that in mind Steve Staunton failed to select Foster for tonights 4-0 defeat away at Notts County.
