The Bottom Ten, Tuesday Mar 19th 2024

Post by Ginge01 » Wed Mar 20, 2024 1:58 am

The Quakers don’t have a fixture backlog so tonight they had to watch the scores of two games that did us no favours. It was no surprise King’s Lynn beat Bishop’s Stortford, but Blyth who were struggling for wins have now won two straight with their win over Buxton.

The bottom four has not changed, the gap to fifth bottom Darlington remains five points, there is now more breathing room for tonight’s winners Blyth and King's Lynn.

Tonight’s games for the Bottom Ten, Tuesday Mar 19th 2024

Bishop’s pointless 2024 continues with them falling behind 0-1 in the first half, and conceding one more in the second half.

The biggest games that can influence who goes down.
I’ve included Banbury, Gloucester or Bishop’s Stortford games as opposing teams should take advantage of them and get three points in those games.
06/04 is going to be a huge weekend with four big games involving eight Bottom Ten teams, 13/04 has three big games involving six Bottom Ten teams.
For Darlington, next week at Rushall is obviously huge, we want to keep the points gap at five or more.

23/03 PETERBOROUGH vs BLYTH
23/03 RUSHALL vs DARLINGTON

26/03 SOUTHPORT vs BISHOP'S STORTFORD

29/03 FARSLEY vs SOUTHPORT

01/04 PETERBOROUGH vs GLOUCESTER

06/04 BANBURY vs KING'S LYNN
06/04 BLYTH vs RUSHALL
06/04 DARLINGTON vs SOUTHPORT
06/04 FARSLEY vs PETERBOROUGH

09/04 PETERBOROUGH vs FARSLEY
09/04 RUSHALL vs BISHOP'S STORTFORD

13/04 DARLINGTON vs FARSLEY
13/04 KING’S LYNN vs PETERBOROUGH
13/04 SOUTHPORT vs RUSHALL

The bottom four has not changed today, fourth bottom Rushall trail Darlington and Farsley by five points.

Can Rushall recover and escape relegation?, there are still four Bottom 10 games for them to play, one against Bishop’s Stortford which should be three points. They are needing someone from Farsley or Darlington to stumble, tonight Blyth and King’s Lynn pulled away from Rushall.
Saturday’s Rushall vs Darlington could not be any bigger for them.

Who goes down prediction? The bottom four sequence at the end of the season
Rushall, Banbury, Gloucester and;

Already relegated. Bishop’s Stortford

This week’s games

23/03 Saturday
Rushall ............ vs Darlington
Bishop’s Stortford vs Scarborough
Curzon Ashton ... vs Banbury
Hereford ......... vs Farsley
King’s Lynn ....... vs Tamworth

Margetts has been on fire for Kings Lynn, cracking signing he's proven to be.

A win on Saturday and I think we are safe - in that we will accumulate enough points after Saturday to stay up. It is a BIG six pointer this weekend though. The pressure will be on Rushall, they need to win, they have two tough fixtures after us (playoff chasing teams) so I can't see them getting much from those two games.

They signed six or seven new players (including Margetts, other permanent signings and loanees) after a mysterious Singaporean businessman called Joseph Phua "invested" in the club. Only the chairman knows how much that was, what he "invested" in, given they are loss-making and in debt, how much was involved and what the terms are.

It's fair to say some of the fans would like to know more about the mysterious Joe and his money but are delighted that the signings have put them on a strong run of form.
