Interview (and injury update) with Physio Nathan Liddle

Post by LMQuaker » Wed Mar 06, 2024 7:41 pm

Good insight into his background and his role at the club. Comes across well and sounds like a very intelligent bloke.

In terms of injuries;

Lawlor: impact injury, bruised rib from an elbow but fit now
Taylor: impact injury, back a week ahead of schedule and fit now
Asante: had trouble with recurring groin issue initially, little flare up of tendinopathy* which settled. Then had illness, back to training and then had an issue with his opposite groin. Hoping to build up over the next week, looking to integrate into training next 7-10 days
Siddik: doing well, MRI scan showed damage but not too significant. Similar trajectory, next 7-10 days
Rivers: mild injury and expected back training Thursday
Liddle: 2-3 weeks out

*interestingly Nathan was asked about training on artificial surface and whether that's an issue. He did say generally OK but some players are different, and actually mentions tendinopathy as someone that may not react well to it.

Just listened to the interview … really good insight into Nathan’s background plus brings us right bang up to date around state of current injuries. Feels like the sort of regular update the fans could do with, Great work.

Just listened....really helpful update and something we've been discussing on here. Helps to have clarity and information to stop us wondering what's going on. Needs to be a regular item.

Agreed, I think once a month should be about right.

Didn't Hatfield and Cornish come off on Tuesday with slight injuries?
