Spennymoor V Darlington

Post by Darlopartisan » Wed Mar 06, 2024 11:40 am

Another big game Saturday, in fact they are all big games for the rest of the season. Hopefully the lads can carry on in the way they did last night.
I won’t be be going myself, said I would never go back after fencegate, and the way they handled it afterwards.
I still believe we get treated unfairly there, and it’s not safe to take kids, which is a sorry state of affairs.

This will be my first time since Fencegate.

I’m hoping that with the ticket situation and better organisation from S’moor, it makes it a safer and better experience than what happened back then.

I’m also hoping that the over-pumped attitude of some of their players will have cooled off.

Don't think Ramshaw will ever change, thank god Chandler and Curtis have disappeared off the face of the earth.

I wasn't going, but one of my son's wants to go, so we'll be there. Tickets were still available earlier today.

According to Darlington FC on X we have sold nearly 500 tickets out of an allocation of 850. So still plenty available, come on Darlo fans snap them up and lets give the lads some massive vocal support on Saturday.
I know the views aren’t great and many vowed never to go again after the “Fencegate Fiasco ”, but this really matters and we need as many as possible backing the team for this one.

650 sold

Great effort so far, regardless of what’s gone on before the backing this weekend is essential. Makes a mockery of Spenny bringing their usual 100 too us because its the worst away end in the league…pot kettle

Personally I hope the full allocation isn't sold out, as 800 in that small area will be really cramped and the view of the game could be very limited.

Hopefully they will use common sense and allow some Darlington fans into the largely empty seats behind the goal. Because it's stretching the boundaries of comfort and safety to try to squeeze this number of our supporters into the small terracing on the Tees Crescent side of the ground.

Com'on what do you expect from the pit village team.safety and common sense don't go together with their safety team as we found to our cost time and time again.

Anyway, on to the match, I'll snap your hands off for a point here. As long as we can follow up by beating Blyth (who are shite) and Peterborough Sports.

7 points from 3 would set us up very nicely for Rushall away.

It’s almost guaranteed that the fans that go will be corralled unsafely into the corner of the ground with very limited visibility, while the rest of the ground is half empty .

Give your head a shake Pete. The more fans we have there the better as far as I am concerned. It isn’t about you it’s about the backing we can give the team. Just get there and sing your heart out for the lads.

Same, a point would be a decent outcome and set us up nicely for two winnable home games, hope all going enjoy the day and we have no tin pot incidents like years gone by...

I see Conner Shanks has left Spenny by mutual consent, young attacking midfielder, might be worth a look.

How do you know how many tickets we've sold? Anyone any idea how many away fans there were on Tuesday? They really were angry with their players!!!!

Not there today, for anyone that is, I would be interested in if Spenny have improved our allocation of space in the ground?
Anyone

Can somebody let commentator Cansfield know that radio silence during key moments in the action doesn’t really work

It sounds like it could go either way.

I'll not be too disheartened if we lose (as long as we don't get hammered), because Spendy are in great form. We'd still be 5 from 7 with 3 winnable matches coming up, and at least we're creating plenty of chances.

I'll more than take a draw now.

PS what happened to Nelson? Hope it's not too bad as he's been playing well lately.

Squad very stretched and certainly cannot afford any injuries. We really need a couple of additions badly imo.
