I still hold out hope we can get someone like Calum Kavanagh in until the end of December.

After all he can't go on an EFL loan until then. Even if it's to help out for a few games while Asante is getting up to speed it would be helpful!

He would be a cracking signing.

Just listened to his first interview on his non scoring debut the other night. Didn't say anything controversial about his time at Darlo. One of his main reasons for moving was training everyday, although it did make me smile a bit when he referred to Boston as a big Club!

Does that mean he's had to leave his day job? Or he didn't have one in the first place?

Think he actually says when asked what appealed to him about Boston "Just the Opportunity to come in train through the day". So I guess you can do that if you have your own ground and possile Gym?

Would Middlesbrough help us out again when we acted unprofessionally regarding our relationship with them at the fans-forum?

Didn’t DJ say at the Fans Forum that Boro are keen to help us out and continue to be very supportive.

Yes, but that was before we disclosed, in public, that Middlesbrough weren't happy with our training and didn't rate AA.

I have seen a few posts circulating on x and fb saying that we are paying Asante a £1,000 a week, I didn’t believe it until I saw Jim Provett post a weeks and a half before we signed him.

It reads “ Crazy that clubs can find another 1/3 of original budget to throw at 1 player at this point of a season 🤔🤯

33% of 162,000 is round about £1,000. I know our playing budget is probably more than that, but I really hope we aren’t playing him this figure.

If that's true then Gowling and the club are taking a big gamble on one player considering the original budget had been spent.Would it not have been wiser to look for 2 players for the cost of Asante ?.

Hmmmm, well I don’t know either way, but on saying that, members of the A.J.C. (Anti Josh Crew) have been placing all sorts of hyperbole and mischief making posts on the internet lately, many of which don’t hold up to scrutiny.

Possibly suggest where the rumour came from.

1. £160k isn't our budget. £160k is the boost to our budget. Our revenues were £720k last time - and that didn't include BtB - but noting that it generated an operating loss close to the value of BtB. The vast majority of our operating expense is the playing budget from what I recall from previous accounts.
2. We have a 40 week budget if I am not mistaken - so the maths doesn't work very well.

If an average player was on £700 per week before tax and we had 18 of them that would be about £560k per year incl. employer NI. £600pw would be £480k.

I am not sure a) £1,000 pw would be that obscene in the scheme of things, but does seem like a gamble b) I am not sure £1,000 would get you two players of the quality required.

I don't think £1,000 pw or £30k for what is left of the season is anywhere close to a third of our budget.

Strange how people in the know tell us Asante is definitely on £1000 a week but no-one knows what's going on with Mustoe? Do tell, please.

In most firms wages are confidential - Must of us work amongst people who's wages we don't know, unless they tell us.

D.J. will know, Josh will know, the DFC financial guy will know - player and agent.

So I can't see why the internet knows how much Asante is being paid.

Sigh.

People talk - that's how. Forget pure speculation or calculating our playing budget against staffing costs.

loan_star is obviously well-connected to those in & around the club. Inside scoops have been happening for years now, but all of a sudden Uncovered is the judge & jury.

Tiresome.

All I know is that they are trying to move him on, along with other players who now find themselves back in the side. I’ve been told a figure we are paying Asante.
I also think, my opinion this, that Beck would have stayed if he had been offered the kind of money we are paying Asante.

Sigh. There was no "judge and jury". I was merely asking how some people are in the know and no official comment re Mustoe. Sorry you're finding it tiresome.

The term frozen out seems popular at present.

Not being selected = frozen out.
Injured = frozen out.
Rested = frozen out.

Mustoe's whereabouts is entirely relevant given that we couldn't even name our full complement of subs recently.

So why did his agent say otherwise? He was touted back to Darlo only a few months ago for just a bit more than we offered him to stay. Must have been desperate to stay full time….

As you well know, that is what agents do.
I did not say he would not return at some point. Apart from playing a bit higher standard the big draw of Moors was getting back into full-time football and giving it another crack. You know, much like a few others have done.

Whatever Asante is on it's a waste of scarce resources - he's being paid for cantering around for ten minutes or so, seeming to be quite unfit then it's the usual just wait and see we get from the club. They could tell us honestly when he's likely to be fit. What must the other players think of this?

Honestly, have we got no patience at all in this fanbase? Asante is an outstanding coup for a club in our position, regardless of the fact it’ll take him a couple of months to get up to speed. Gowling said in a recent interview that he hoped he’d be ready to start against Southport.
