It doesn't say that he's actually signed yet for us, but looks like he's on his way to us.

I’m not too keen on a 6 month loan for a keeper. Could land us in a bit of trouble if we can’t get an adequate replacement when the loan ends mid season.

Wonder if it is in fact Aynsley and Boro want him to play at a higher level but doing us a favour only for the 6 months.

Possibly. However for me it needs to be either a season long loan or forget the idea and sign someone permanently.

Agree with the concerns with a 6-month loan deal for a goalkeeper, however if it was Pears then I would take our chances of having him for 6 months and then possibly having him for longer or having to replace him. An excellent goalkeeper.

I’d always gamble that we can get another decent keeper on loan in January. It is about that time the PL clubs will know which players aren’t being kept on from their u23s teams for the following season so probably get someone with a point to prove.

I'd be amazed if we took a gk from a premiership club.

Spent the season on loan at Skelmersdale United since October last year. Born in Boro.

Would you be amazed if I pointed out that 2 former Darlo loanee keepers are currently in their respective World Cup squads in Russia? Obviously we do something to them & their careers! Aspiring keepers should take note ;)

No, I wouldn't. Did Schmeichel and Pickford play for us when we were in the national league north?

Spot on! Wouldn't surprise me if Pears went a long way in his career too. It is vital to get a settled keeper to shore up the defence, as I believe we can always score goals, but clean sheets were hard to come by last season until Pears got into the team.

Well if he's half as good as the Finnish keeper we got on loan from Preston a good few years ago, then he'll be more than decent.

That's the fella, he only made a handful of appearances for us, but what a keeper and character.

Wonder if Tommy knows about him. Must be a lot of competition for loaning young keepers, from other clubs that can offer first team experience.

Darlo should in parallel be scouting for some local keepers, for the longer term.

Darlo may need some months of pondering if the prospects are meant to be good enough for a quick start in the NLN and above.

Yes I’m not sure whether divas is making a suggestion on those players or whether he’s heard or knows something

We also had David Lucas on loan from Preston for a while and I seem to remember him being pretty good too.
