Re: CURZON away
It's better than playing them on a Monday night.
Re: CURZON away
Was orginally due to be played December 2nd. Not sure why we've moved it to be honest. Unless the league have forced us to of course.AndyPark wrote:It's better than playing them on a Monday night.

Re: CURZON away
Ahh was it? I just assumed it was a Monday night, both teams then saw fit to bring it forward to save a wasted weekend.TFDM wrote:Was orginally due to be played December 2nd. Re: CURZON away
So instead of that weekend being free we now have sat 2nd dec instead maybe they think the weather will be worse then
Re: CURZON away
Bugger, there goes my excuse not to do Christmas shopping with our lass. Will cost me more than if i had donated enough to buy the seats!darlo reborn wrote:So instead of that weekend being free we now have sat 2nd dec instead maybe they think the weather will be worse then
Re: CURZON away
It is clearly the weather in mind here, good decision.
Re: CURZON away
Or it could be a smart move to rest the lads before the clash with Salford on 9th Dec?TDS wrote:It is clearly the weather in mind here, good decision.
Re: CURZON away
It would look pretty bad if it snows on Dec 2 and they lost two Saturdays (Sep 30 and Dec 2) when they could have saved one of them. Maybe there's a later midweek game that could be moved into the Dec 2 slot, or games rearranged due to FA Trophy etc?

do I put my faith into Martin Gray - an ex professional footballer, ex football league assistant manager and respected lower league manager?roadrunner wrote:We are struggling to get a team out and we arrange a game away on the 30th September

Re: CURZON away
Even trickier when you add in his rumour mongering. We were planning to go but going to the Butler/Hall fight that night and need to be there for the undercard. Typical!

The last line up was Bartlett, Marrs, Ferguson, Turnbull, Burgess, Galbraith, Wheatley, Syers, Beck, Gillies, Catonroadrunner wrote:We are struggling to get a team out
Plus the 3 who came on, Thompson, Scott and Saunders
and we're "struggling to get a team out"?
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Re: CURZON away
Even with Burgess replacing Collins last minute we still had six subs left. More about attitude and motivation than numbers.
