What do we win for been in the top 3 in the attendance league???lo36789 wrote:If we can average over 2,500 we'll be fourth in the national league attendance table. Would be awesome to get above Stockport's 2,863 average but could be tricky.
Anything above 2,692 on Boxing Day will see us climb to third in the average attendance tables for National North after 11 games.
So happy with the 3,229 capacity. Still a way to go to find the extra 1,771 needed for the National League mind but it feels quite doable given what 3,229 looks like!

Maybe I have been looking to long at key risk indicators today...HarrytheQuaker wrote:What do we win for been in the top 3 in the attendance league???
There is a risk that we do not have the necessary resources to compete at the level we would like to.
The root causes could be lack of commercial revenues, inappropriate (un-commercial expense) or lack of gate revenues.
I'd say achieving attendance up there at the top end is a good indicator basically...well actually the indicator more so is that if we don't achieve that then there is a chance that risk will materialise.
Re: Blackwell Meadows passes FA Inspection - Darlington FC h
You forgot the biggest one - a generous benefactor. That is why many clubs in the conference national, and north can compete way beyond their net operating revenue. We all know that very rarely, if ever that's sustainable at this level but we'll still be coming up against plenty of clubs that have finiancial muscle way beyond their "level" at least on a temporary basis.

it's an indicator not the absolute

40-50 mph gusts expected on Monday. Hopefully the HP wind machine does not follow us to BM

Interesting in Kev Luff's piece that Malcolm Cundick confirmed that there are plans to grow to 5,000, which he stated was Category A, but I think this is EFL criteria isn't it (unless that is category A). This is fabulous news as it shows long term plans off the field to get back to the Football League.
Re: Blackwell Meadows passes FA Inspection - Darlington FC h
Category A is 4,000 with potential to expand to 5,000.
Although there's no harm in going for the full 5,000 anyway.
I can see us achieving 4,000 but I'm worried that there's not enough room for 5,000 when you take into account the areas where the pipe exclusion zone is which can't be built on, and when you take into account that the seated stands are only 6 rows high etc.

Malcolm says on the video that the plans for 5,000 are there, we just need the money/FSIF funds

It would be great to see the plans for a 5000 capacity come to fruition and then we wouldn't need to worry about the club outgrowing the ground, which is perhaps the worry at the moment if we get promotion.
Re: Blackwell Meadows passes FA Inspection - Darlington FC h
I really can't decide if you are on deliberate wind up again. We don't need the plans to 'come to fruition' until promotion to the FL.Darlo_Pete wrote:It would be great to see the plans for a 5000 capacity come to fruition and then we wouldn't need to worry about the club outgrowing the ground, which is perhaps the worry at the moment if we get promotion.
The only thing we need for promotion is by the following March to have 771 extra on the capacity and whip out our plans for 5,000.
Good news from Malcolm though - saves rest of us needing to speculate where 5,000 would come from if it's already been deciphered.

Would be good for the fans to see the physical plans of what could be achieved at BM. Always helps with fundraising if you know what you're building towards. Would be great to dispel the nay sayers as well who said it would never happen and that the site could not support the football club in the future.lo36789 wrote:I really can't decide if you are on deliberate wind up again. If you look closely, there is another article about us on the BBC football homepage. That's two in two days!
