First managerial casualty of the season

Post by Darlogramps » Tue Aug 09, 2022 3:22 pm

Terry Mitchell has left Blyth Spartans after just one game.

Evidently something has happened behind the scenes to go so early in the season. They’re also after their 5th permanent manager since 2019.

Something must have happened there, he seemed to be doing a good job and has practically re-built the squad with some good signings and got rid of a lot of deadwood. He did say at his PMI he wanted a further 2 signings to add to a pretty sizeable squad so this could be a clue.

During a facebook discussion among the Blyth fans about how unadventurous they were in their opening day defeat, Robbie Dale joined in and put the boot in. He said: "I told the manager I couldn't play another season for him, as I hated everything about the way he works, training was awful." He's now urging them to go for Graham Fenton.

Mebbe Dale looking for new role as player-manager? Or was he just cheesed off as CF without decent service??

Dale is currently playing at Ashington, thought he’d retired! Looking at their Facebook page quite a few seem to want Fenton.

It's Dale's opinion, but I think the board have taken his and other players opinion's into account with this dismissal. Players couldn't handle the tougher training schedule I am led to believe.

Seems player and club legend power has struck again. Fenton has indeed become manager, seems a decent fit
I may not live in the north east anymore but i still support the north east teams

Hope Blyth's Old Boys don't tempt AA back! Why doesn't Robbie Dale shut up & do it himself?
