York Away Saturday 12th March

Post by TKOA » Mon Jan 17, 2022 3:58 pm

Thought I’d give everyone plenty notice in case anyone’s booked trains etc for this one but York are now playing Morpeth on this date in the FA Trophy.

Isn’t it if York beat Morpeth and get to the quarter finals then our fixture will be moved. The Morpeth game takes place February 12th.

Yeah, York v Morpeth is Sat 12th Feb.

Next round is Sat March 12th, so game in doubt but not off as yet.

Will it be easier to park if the game is rearranged for an evening kick off, given we will miss the Saturday shoppers ?

I'm happy as no trains are running between Newcastle and York that weekend

plenty of parking at York's new ground.

£5 in club car park - no time limit. In rest of retail park, parking is free, BUT, be careful, some parts have a 4 hour limit, others a much shorter period.

I echo this.

But also, from the correspondence I’ve got from work recently, there’s plans to have a very limited amount of trains but will have a big diversion (fully expect this to change).
So everyone who is travelling to York that, it’ll be a bus replacement trip via Northallerton.

Think Spen is wrong so be careful, currently on Sat match days you have to spend £5 in one of the shops and take receipt to one of the attendants in the car park to get parking free. Expensive if you park over 2 hours I understand. The club car park costs a fiver, and can take some getting out of after the match so I have been told. There are buses that run from the train station for home and away fans.

There’s an estate next to the ground which offers street parking. When I went there earlier in the season, that’s what I did and had no problem.

And yes, Spen isn’t correct. What you say about parking in the retail park is correct.

I would not park in any of the nearby two shopping outlets, you will most likely get a ticket.

Can you not park in that park and ride? I will most likely get the train when i go next week (fingers crossed its still on). Is it true theres no food or drink outlets in the stadium itself?
I may not live in the north east anymore but i still support the north east teams

Plenty of food and drink ( including alcohol) in the ground when I was there in December.

Pubs outside the ground are a different issue
