Kevin Dos Santos Signs, Charman New Contract

Post by Darlofan97 » Fri Jul 23, 2021 9:06 am

Bit of positive news this morning.....

Kevin Dos Santos has signed from Tadcaster Albion. Right winger/left winger, 21 years old.

Luke Charman has also signed a new two-year deal.

Whilst there has been no official confirmation of Holmes' situation on the official site, he has definitely left.

As an aside, why are Ray Simpson’s first few questions in any new signing interview a potted history of his career?

“Kevin, welcome to Darlo. You started your career with…..”

Does it every time and it’s not particularly engaging. I want to know about the player. Who he is, what AA said to him, how he got signed up, does he already know people in the squad, what makes him tick as a person, what will he bring to the squad, something fun about the players.

Don’t need a broad brush Wikipedia-style look at his past (unless there’s anything interesting gone on).

Very useful that Kevin Dos Santos's name matches the intonation pattern of 'Seven Nation Army' so a chant ready made there.

Is a Butcher's pencil fit? Surely it just lies around, doing very little, surrounded by meat.

Am I mistaken or did Charman agree a new contract earlier this summer too? I'm not complaining if this is a further extension, as from what I saw last season, if he can get a run of games for us he will be a very good player at this level

We took the 1 year option. This locks him down for two years and maybe has an option but possibly not.

I guess we all hope he does really well and the likely event of him stopping past a year if he does, is pretty slim.

Yes but if you look at the meat Alan has brought in compared to those TW brought in 3 years ago, Johnny Burn, Liam hughes, Alex henshall, Simon Ainge (exclude Jordan Nicholson) his choices are sirloin and rump steak not mince

Must put my glasses on before trying to read this. I thought it read "Chairman signs new contract"😆
Either way good news & welcome Kevin Dos Santos.

Santos looked a real live wire when he came on in the second half, very promising.
