Re: Asante Starts

Feel a bit sorry for him to be honest. His wage is irrelevant, we’ve agreed to pay him that and he’s well within his rights to stay here and take it whether he’s playing or not. There isn’t a player out there that wants to be injured and looking through his wikipedia, his full career has been blight...

How’s Asante playing? Anyone
Sounds like he’s been rusty as hell which is to be expected. Subbed now.

Easy solution. All teams group together and refuse to play from 1st round onwards unless decision overturned
And then get stung even more with a large fine.

I doubt it, not even sure he is still with us.
Well he was having a pre-match workout last Saturday, so he definitely is.
Pretty sure Les was referring to the Greek guy Pete not Asante.
Yes Siddick was one of the 3.
Siddik isn’t the Greek guy, they’re on about Sonil Vasileiou

Re: Steve Watson - 2 year contract confirmed

Great interview. Talking about promotion aims 'You hear a lot of managers playing it down, I'm not going to play it down, that's what we have to aim for'. No doom and gloom about our chances next season and beyond. Makes a world of difference.

Re: Looks like they're staying...

Does Watson still work for NUFC? If so and he’s happy with his work/life balance then I think he’ll stay - the problem is that he’s obviously capable of managing at a higher level. Tried to google but can't really find an answer. Did find out he'd been declared bankrupt in 2017 (dodgy investment sc...

and Rutledge is still quite young and raw and could develop into a very useful striker at our current level. He already is a very useful striker at our current level. I think Gateshead may want another look at him next season though. Based on what we’ve seen so far, I think he’s a fair bit away fro...

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24

I was hoping Main might have picked up an award yesterday post match, but no. He has been superb since he joined and in some ways reminds me of Gabbiadini - the way he just pushes his way through, not taking no for an answer. Should have been POTY. Salkeld has been in good form recently but Main ha...

This 'investor' is clearly a fraud. Any potential players will be well aware of what Steve has done and the feel good factor so I wouldn’t worry too much about competition.

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024

Over the last 20 games, we’re 8th in the form table and Farsley are 21st. We’re where we are because of Gowling, they’re where they are because they’re not a very good team. We won’t have any bother at the weekend. How long have you been supporting Darlington ? Surely you don’t think it is a forgon...

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24

According to the club 1,400 tickets have been sold in advance for the game on Saturday. I am guessing that this figure must include season ticket holders. It does yes, someone asked on an older post and they said it does. On the subject of tickets, we’ve only been given an allocation of 500 for Che...

Re: Nathan Liddle- Physio update

Interesting that Watson has well and truly binned off Asante if squad is all fit. Sums up Gowling’s signings perfectly Also mentioned training being a big factor - I would imagine both him and Siddik aren't giving it full pelt due to their recent (and recurring) injuries and thus not giving SW much...

If he’s contracted to next season, I would not risk him if he is back to full fitness, it might be the only way to move him on .

Re: Darlington V Southport

Just Sukar and Ngandu out injured according to the preview. SW seemed to indicate a few not fully match fit (think we can guess who) and also emphasized players need to train well to be considered, maybe implying that some currently aren't.

Darlo 2-0 Southport.

There have been rumours that there is a plan to have this guy on our books next year. On the basis of his alleged salary it would take a massive portion of any Boost the Budget to afford him. After all, if has been paid a small fortune to sit around doing nothing I dare say he will want a wage rise...
