Fundraising Match

This Saturday two teams, one men, one women, will take on each other in a game of football with the aim of raising fund for Darlington Football Club.

The match will take place at the Eastbourne Sports Complex.

One of the organisers, Bobby Wallace, told The Northern Echo "I got involved when Sophie was struggling to find a pitch to play on, and got in touch with the council. The very helpful Paul Soderman managed to secure the pitch at Eastbourne Sports Complex and they are allowing us to use it free of charge, for which we are very grateful."

He added: "We're hoping that as many people as possible will come down for a bit of fun for a couple of hours."

Kick-off is 1.30pm with admission £2 for adults and £1 for under-16s while there will also be a raffle.
