Does anyone fancy clubbing together for an uncovered player sponsor again?

super_les_mcjannet - 28th June 2012 17:00:59

Rude not too, whats your thoughts £5/£10 each see how many can be sponsored.

divas wrote:Does anyone fancy clubbing together for an uncovered player sponsor again?

Go on then!

divas - 28th June 2012 17:14:16

We did £20 per head and raised £500 last year to sponsor 2 players, well actually 1 in the end as the money for the other one ended in the DUFF pot as the club never asked for it.

As sponsorship is cheaper this year let's say £10 minimum.

divas - 28th June 2012 21:47:54

Well we raised enough for 1 player the first season we did it, 2 last year so let's go for 3 this year. It's only 30 people, sure we can do that.

Tenner from me

divas - 29th June 2012 08:54:04

I usually use bank transfer as there's no fee and is easiest for me, so if you can do that great, i'll PM details around.

Failing that a cheque will do or even cash at a push.

I make that £200 and 2 players sponsored now. Great effort, lets see if we can get that final one.

BlackandwhiteBOB - 29th June 2012 08:58:31

Don't use bank transfer and god knows the last time I wrote a cheque out! Can you not send as a gift through PayPal and there's no charge anymore? Failing that I'll cover the charge of PayPal so you get the full tenner ;-)

Quakerz wrote:Bloody hell so the sponsorships are going well. Are you going to give periodic updates?
Yeah they are doing relatively well although they are a fair bit bit cheaper than they've ever been so it's to be expected really.

We've got firm pledges for around £5K worth of sponsors across everything so far but i expect that to rise a fair bit as we've had interest for around 12 match sponsors that i need to chase up and we have our business event at Rockliffe on Weds.

10 player shirt sponsors on board and a few for boots and socks.

edit: make that 11

Darlo_Rob - 29th June 2012 16:07:38

Put me down for £20 I'll leave it up to you if want to put that against one player or £10 shares for two players. Just let me know how to transfer the money.

divas - 29th June 2012 16:12:41

Will send a msg to all pledgers over the weekend with payment details, thanks for the fantastic response and feel free to vote for who you'd like to sponsor from the list above.

£260 pledged, £40 to go for 3 players.

dfc1883 - 29th June 2012 16:56:07

Just out of interest, with our players being part time - what happens if you sponsor someone for £100 then he moves on after 2 games?

Will you get to sponsor someone new, or will you just get their shirt there and then?

This is pretty likely to happen isn't it?

quakersam - 29th June 2012 16:59:57

Yeah I'll throw £10 in

Darlofan97 - 29th June 2012 17:05:22

Not neccesarily, no. Just because a player is part time doesn't mean they can move on when they like. Dowson and the Purewal twins are on a proper contract. Can't see how they would move on after 'just 2 games'.

quakersam - 29th June 2012 17:06:12

Players who aren't on contract (we have a few) can move on if a club puts 7 days notice in for them. Obviously it's up to the player whether they want to move or not

divas - 29th June 2012 19:58:43

As the players will be wearing 1-11 you'll just get to switch to another player of your choice. Also at the end of the season you'll be presented with a match worn shirt, it may not be the specific number your player wore if the numbers are rotated around however we'll do our best.

I'd hope that despite the 7 day ruling we should be able to keep a squad together, especially if we're doing well.

divas - 29th June 2012 20:00:05

And that's £300,enough for 3 players. Fantastic stuff!!

Don't let me stop you there though if anyone else fancies chipping in

dfcdfcdfc - 29th June 2012 23:21:47

I'll stick in another £20 to get us started towards the next player.

Jazz Maverick - 29th June 2012 23:25:58

Fuck it, I'll do another £10

dfc1883 - 30th June 2012 06:14:05

How much does a sponsor board cost? How about sponsoring 1 player and getting a board for this site? (if it isn't too much)

Maurice_Peddelty - 30th June 2012 06:26:06

Put me down for a tenner. On my jollies at the moment so won't be able to do bank transfer until towards end of the week.

Allan Quatermain - 30th June 2012 06:59:52

Stick me down for a tenner please Divas.

Porter, Gray & Reay would be my preferences due to their history with us.

I haven't forgotten about the match sponsorship, I need to contact the rest of the DAFTS to find suitable dates and will confirm by email this week.

Tony

Ron - 30th June 2012 10:48:54

OK, 20 from me, Going so well it would be a shame not to join in.

divas - 30th June 2012 10:49:57

Cheers guys.

In response to the advertising boards they are £400 + VAT as we have to charge the same as Bishop, probably a tad expensive and you don't get anything at the end of the season like you would with a player sponsor

super_les_mcjannet - 30th June 2012 10:54:04

Not sure if counted, if not count me in for £10. PM details to pay when needed.

micra3 - 30th June 2012 11:08:28

Count me in

onewayup - 30th June 2012 12:54:36

i'll put in twenty cash when and where let me know.

divas - 30th June 2012 17:48:23

Well if I can count I reckon that takes us to £400. Fantastic achievement in a few days, big pat on the back for all.

We really need to nail some players down for these as they are running out fast.

My suggestion is Arjun Purewal home and away. Stephen Harrison home and a couple of pairs of boots - alright with everyone? Suggest the boots as shirts rapidly running out and could do with leaving a few for others who have shown interest.

Pledges still more than welcome by the way, we'll find something to spend it on ;)

wellindarlo - 30th June 2012 18:05:13

I go £20 as well, lets see if we can get a 'monkey'

Hilly - 30th June 2012 18:16:04

Harrison definitely. Think he's going to be a very good player this season.

AIDO - 30th June 2012 18:17:44

AndyPark - 2nd July 2012 01:02:30

Darlo Nutz - 2nd July 2012 07:22:34

When is the money to be collected for this? As I've only got PayPal or failing that I can walk into the bank and pay over the counter if this is the preferred option? I'm in Durham tomorrow so can do this? Cheers Steve

divas - 2nd July 2012 08:20:05

I plan on mailing payment details to you all. I will get round to it but with trying to run selling corp/sponsor packages to everyone and trying to get people to attend the event on Weds i've not had a lot of time lately. Will try and get it done today.

Darlo Nutz - 2nd July 2012 08:27:25

Ne worries Divas, just didn't want to miss out on my donation for the club and wasn't sure on the plans cheers mate

divas - 2nd July 2012 09:15:57

Okay, everyone should now have a PM with a range of payment details however bank transfer is preferred, let me know if you're expecting something and have not received and i'll forward the details on.

£450 pledged from 38 different users, great effort!

divas - 2nd July 2012 11:02:38

Arjun Purewal - Home, Away, boots and socks.
Stephen Harrison - Home
David Dowson - Away

Chris Porter has actually been snapped up already. I've only allocated him a "home" shirt as i'm not sure at this level whether he'll have a change shirt. If i find out he does and we raise enough then by all means.

divas - 2nd July 2012 13:46:44

Just a quick update on player sponsorships, there's 1 home shirt left, that of Dan Smith and in total we've sold 37 different sponsorships between home shirts, away shirts, boots, gloves and socks.

Really want to try and get the lot sponsored, would be a fantastic achievement.

Only issue i have is that i'm struggling to track any previous sponsors due to obvious problem of the old commercial team disappearing.

I'm hoping many will have seen the posts on here, facebook, twitter etc. but there's always those that don't and i don't want to see their noses put out of joint.

I don't see why the level has anything to do with the liklihood of his kit clashing with the oppositions?!

Fair point, I was thinking more of budget restraints and whether keepers just wear green in this league and that's it.

Also slight change in our sponsorship, we'll now be taking Danny Mellanby's away shirt instead of David Dowson's away shirt - a family member of David's called wanting to sponsor his shirt so it was a case of turning down £100 or change ours a little.

Thanks for all the payments so far, ive been that busy with the wider sponsorship stuff over the last few days I've not had chance to collate it but I'll do that plus get a total if I can tomorrow.

The good news is that all home shirts have now been sponsored and about 5 away shirts remain. We've raised IRO £25K through Corp & sponsorship, a large chink obviously from the Echo deal.

Pledges total £520 currently and the sponsorships we've committed to comes to £460, so we've £60 extra in the kitty (if everything comes in, had about £360 so far).

If we wanted to sponsor Chris Porters change (away) kit as has been mentioned then it would be another £40. There's always the option of sponsoring some socks/boots as well.

Just a reminder for those that still owe me for pledges, i've received the invoice from the club so need to get these paid for ASAP.

Added pain in the arse is that in their wisdom Nationwide don't display reference names on payments so i'm having a nightmare matching them up. I'll be in touch with you all individually when i get a minute to remedy this.

Well reminded - apologies. Also reminded me that I need to pay Dave for Mikky's season ticket.

My bad - will do both now.

EDIT: And with that, both should be done.

You probably have but have you tried the "full statement" option on the bottom of the normal account page. It generally gives you the same transactions but with an extra column and more info although a day behind. I presume it was internet banking you were checking on.

That was my initial thinking, i was checking my mini statement and nothing appearing so i thought nevermind i'll just wait until it appears on my full statement. Unfortunately Nationwide decide to include the name of the person who's bank acct it is that has transferred the money rather than any reference they've provided.

I've managed to reconcile around £500 worth of payments so i'm getting there

I've about £80 remaining.

I'll post up a list of those who i can't find anything for and people will just have to let me know if they've deffo paid.
