Darlington assistant manager Ryan Kidd has added his name to the list of star-studded former players expected to turn out for Sunday’s charity match for Help the Heroes.

A host of household names from the world of football and TV will go head-to-head in an All-star XI v North-East XI at the Arena on Sunday (1.30pm kick-off) to raise money for Help the Heroes.

Tickets are now available from the club’s ticket office and main reception at the Arena, priced £5 for all.

Simon Davey’s assistant Kidd has agreed to take part in the game, along with Peter Beardsley, John Beresford, Rob Lee, Steve Watson, Colin Cooper, Kevin Ball, Steve Agnew, Paul Bracewell, Craig Liddle, Neil Maddison, Kevan Smith and Kevin Stonehouse, while Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) and Ralf Little (2 Pints) are also expected to make a show.

Organiser Andrew Scullion said: “We have lost a couple of players who’d originally agreed to take part due to TV work, with the Premier League season drawing to a close on Sunday as well, and that’s understandable.

“But there’s still a host of high-profile former players taking part in the game as well as TV stars and, more importantly, we’re still raising money for Help the Heroes, with every penny raised from this game going to the charity.

“So it won’t only be a fun and enjoyable event, it will also be a very worthwhile one, and we’d love to see lots of support from Darlington fans.”

Entry is available on the gate on the day as well, again priced £5, while parking costs £5 which includes one match ticket.

There’s also a corporate package available from the club. Fans can pay just £250 for an executive box (10 people) and the package includes a drink on arrival, food and executive seats for the game. Call the commercial team on 01325 387000 or email commercial@darlington-fc.net
