End Of Season Fans Night
by Scott Thornberry - 21st April 2010
Darlington are planning to hold an end-of-season Fans Night at the Northern Echo Arena when a Supporters Player of the Year will be revealed.
The club are staging the event on Tuesday May 4 at the Arena, four days before the final game of the season at home to Dagenham.
The Darlington Supporters Club will present their Player of the Year award at the event, while the Players' kit sponsorship presentations will also be made.
Other entertainment will include table football, table tennis and a Wii, while food will also be served.
"This promises to be yet another popular event with our supporters," said the club's general manager Phil Preston.
"It's another chance for fans to come and feel part of the club, other than on matchdays, and also to mingle with players and management who will be there on the night."
Tickets cost £5 each, which includes food, and can be bought in advance from the Northern Echo Arena main reception, by calling 01325 387000, or email commercial@darlington-fc.net

Agreed plus it's midweek!Darlo_Pete - 22nd April 2010 07:30:30
Call me cynical but I think the club thought this was a good way of attracting a crowd for an evening event. At least they haven't called it 'Player of the season fans night', which would really have been taking the Michael.wylam_rangers - 22nd April 2010 09:13:28
That's ok Pete - they'll change the date to suit you.Darlo_Pete wrote:I'd normally go to this event, but as there's nothing to celebrate this season and I'd struggle to name a player of the season, I think I'll give it a miss.

The date doesn't appear to be a problem for Pete, he just doesn't want to go!

He hasn't been to one yet - so no change there!comeondarlo wrote:wylam_rangers wrote:That's ok Pete - they'll change the date to suit you.Darlo_Pete wrote:I'd normally go to this event, but as there's nothing to celebrate this season and I'd struggle to name a player of the season, I think I'll give it a miss.

But the date is usually the excuse for Pete. Now it's probably the presence of cameras.
Personally I think it's a good reason to celebrate the END of this season and good riddance - so yes I will be going as a supporter through thin and thinner.

I dont post often on here but I sponsored two players shirts this season at a cost of over 500 quid, now i have to pay a tenner for my wife and I to go and collect them, utter greed by the club, next season i'll be keeeping my 500 quid in my pocket!wylam_rangers - 24th April 2010 22:41:04
No you don't. You can collect the shirts at your convenience for free but this is an opportunity for fans and players to mingle at the end of the season and much better than a rushed job after the last match.fergies50yarder wrote:I dont post often on here but I sponsored two players shirts this season at a cost of over 500 quid, now i have to pay a tenner for my wife and I to go and collect them, utter greed by the club, next season i'll be keeeping my 500 quid in my pocket!
I too sponsored a pair of shirts this season and I WILL be going to collect them and sponsoring again next year. If you've not been to one of these fans' nights before then you will be in for a pleasant surprise.
Cut the grump and talk to the club if you have a better idea!!

I'd normally go to this event, but as there's nothing to celebrate this season and I'd struggle to name a player of the season, I think I'll give it a miss.
