GRIMSBY SIGN WRIGHT
Darlington's relegation rivals Grimsby Town have signed former Quakers striker Tommy Wright on an 18 month deal. Wright was surprisingly sold for a nice £100k fee back in 2008.
He scored 15 goals during his last season at the club and was a favourite amongst the fans, never afraid to get stuck in, which did earn him quite a few bookings. His departure surprised a few but it certainly looked good business for the club but not very good business for Aberdeen as it turned out. His time at The Dons was dogged by injury and he only managed to make 4 league starts throughout his stay and scored just one league goal.
His departure from the club was brief with their official website announcing the termination of his contract with just two sentances.
Grimsby Town have now signed the striker on an 18 month deal. Looking at the Aberdeen fans comments it certainly appears he will not be missed, that is in direct contrast to how the Grimsby website is reporting it. Apparently his passion made him a hero with The Dons fans.
Obviously we wish him luck in his new move.
