Nuneaton Borough

In a spot of bother, locked out of ground and potentially on the brink.

Yet there are still people who want the fans to hand the club over to a similar entity if the opportunity arises. Mind boggling.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

The more recent news is even more depressing for Nuneaton fans
.....We are working extremely hard to rectify the current situation but this may sadly be the last time that Boro play.....

As a norm, I would never like to see any club in this situation.
But having lived in the area for many years, for this shower I will make an exception.
Yes, the landowners have an agenda, but to try to put this on "an owner" as some are doing in the comments is way wrong. This mob have been living on borrowed time for a hell of a long time, and all the original problems were caused by the committee trying to run roughshod because they are such a "massive" club.

I might be wrong so don't shoot me down, but are Nuneaton Borough not already a phoenix club after the previous club went bankrupt?

Cheers Spen. This is why more clubs, not less clubs, need to be fan owned.

We wouldn't be lucky enough to get a Brad Groves, we'd end up with another Reynolds/Singh/Houghton.

Weren't they known as Nuneaton Town when they were in the NLN, or did I imagine that?

I recall them beating us 2-1 at Blackwell the year they were relegated after a dreadful run of form, in fact it may have been their first win of the season! I'm sure they were in the mire financially back then as well, very sad they're in this situation once again it appears they're following Ilkeston's lead having gone under and reformed twice.

My first live footie was when I lived there in the 60s. Norman Ashe and Paul Cutler and games under the lights. Oh and ironically they ran out to Engelbert Humperdink singing the Last Waltz.

Good Southern League players. I was working in Hockley Heath at that time and saw them a few times.

Didnt the chairman offer to pay rent arreas out of his own pocket? Seems harsh they are been evicted but maybe the ground owners do want them out and due to the grounds location its more likely to be used for industrial use than housing. Shame for the fans how they have fallen from grace, recall them playing gateshead in the national league, were a decent mid-table side. And yes this is a phoenix club, reformed about 19/20 year back
I may not live in the north east anymore but i still support the north east teams

Actually went bust in 1991 AND 2008.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883
