Never liked Thatcher as a kid growing up - believing all of the small minded shite about how we're so hard done by up north, which still perpetuates to this day.

But yeah, history has been kind on her now we can look back in hindsight, there's some damn good stories to read.

I liked her. (I like strong people who are prepared to stand up for what they believe in).
She is castigated for the miners strike but had little option but to beat them down once they took the government on.
I still wonder why there was so little mention of the fact that half way through the strike, when the miners were all begging for food for their starving kids Scargill received a £320 interest free "loan" from the union to buy a bungalow. That man and his cohorts were so corrupt it beggars belief.
I am NOT a Tory by instinct.

Always been Labour, but couldn't bring myself to vote.

Arrogance from local Labour Council coupled with the disdain shown towards the core working class in the North in regard to Brexit - can't bring myself to vote tory so where do I vote ??

For Labour to lose councils such as Darlo , Boro, Hartlepool and Sunderland … Yes SUNDERLAND possibly the most staunchest Labour area in the country is unfathomable for those of us who grew up with Labour being at the heart of working class communities.

At National level I can't see me voting Labour when the likes of the self -loathing Emily Thornberry gain prominence

If you'd drawn a line in 1980 between the Wash and the Severn Estuary you'd've probably divided the population of the country in two.

27 million north, and 27 million south.

In the four years between 1979 and 1983 over 100,000 people lost their jobs as a direct result of Margaret Thatcher's Friedmanite economic policies.

North of the line it was over a million.

The woman hated the north, and had declared economic war on the working people of the UK in order to promote the casino culture which has persevered ever since.

That people held parties when she died should speak volumes about her.
