Hmmn.

If so let's see how he does, but you have to question someone who has had over 20 clubs at 31 at never made more than 55 appearances for any of them!

He doesn't stay long, but he's scored goals everywhere he's been.

I remember he scored the winner for Mansfield v us, the season we went down. He had a good game and wound the Main Stand up.

Cooper wasnt wrong that its a struggle to get players in! I guess Grant wanted too much $$ or didnt want to relocate as he'd have been an infinitely better choice.

In fairness he seems to be doing better in the latter part of his career goalscoring wise.

Louis goals tally's in the last 3 seasons - 12, 15, 12.

I've seen worse.

He knows this level and has consistently got games at this level over the years, so must have something about him.

I'm not too concerned with his not outstanding goalscoring record (although as Quakerz points out, it isn't a bad record), because I still believe that we've got enough goals elsewhere that we don't need someone to bang in loads. I think that if we start building our forward play around Senior (as we did at Bath), we can potentially be very dangerous.

Senior has shown he'll take chances and create a few himself. The more I think about it, the more I think we need to build our attacking options around him, and two of Louis, Hatch and Powell either side of him could work.

Agreed, we've looked best with 2 big men wide and Senior down the centre. Senior plays on a big immobile centre back and the wide men play on the fullbacks, and if we're intent on hitting long balls make sure they are diagonal to the big men on the smaller fullbacks with the option to mix it up and play some into Senior's feet. Sounds simple but we've only managed to do it in a couple of games.

Unfortunately i have a feeling Senior may be the fall guy and we'll go with Louis, Powell and Wright/Hatch. I dont think Cooper will rest until the entire team is 6' +

I hope you're wrong. He's our most experienced and successful forward at this level. I really rate him based on what I've seen so far. He reminds me a lot of Duffield.

In on a 3 month loan according to the Official Site. Presumably this is so that we can take a look at him and also so effectively he could be signing permanently regardless of the transfer window being shut.

Yep this is correct, a loan up until January when it is expected he will sign for us permantly (according to Gainsborough Trinity website)...thats if it works out I guess!

talk about scraping the barrel, money must be tight if weve signed him, even on loan, someone once told me that if you are looking to sign a player, check him out in the rothmans yr, book, if hes had loadsa clubs then dont touch him with a barge pole - i think it was hodgy, but cant remember who said it to me now - but whoever it was is right - i hope im wrong but ---

Interesting that he scored 4 goals in 8 games for Hayes and Yeading (or Yeading as they were formerly known).

The law of sod dictates that he will score the winner in a 1-0 win :) Any win's a good win at the moment ..

Coops must be expecting a lot from our strikers, mentioning the likes of Didier Drogba in the Echo. Now come on why would we want him when we have hatch, senior and tommy?

Unfortunately I think Cooper has it in for The HITMAN, it will be interesting to see if he is in the squad today.

When Wright is fit, we have Wright, HITMAN, Senior and Powell, plus the two kids.

yes yet another striker.

He really believes in centrelines does Coops.

I hope im wrong, but we needed a winger id say.... it is the supply to the strikers that is the problem, there's definately enough goals in who we've got.

I think Coops has brought him in not only to give Hatch a rest but to give us more height up top and give us more chance of holding the ball up in the final third. He's been quoted as having blistering pace so let's see what he can do today. Come on Darlo!

OK I was wrong about Cooper having it in for The HITMAN, he said "when Liam Hatch is fit and firing he is unplayable for defenders at this level"

yep, i think hodgy did, in fairness to hodgy davey did a good job un till he s*** on the club, hodgy wasnt to know hed do that

re david currie, they are many differences, currie was in his early to mid twenties when he signed for darlo, plus he hadnt been from club to club darlo was his second league club! so comparing louis to currie is like comparing a race horse thats won the derby to a beach donkey!
