yeah just seen that, i was havig a s*** day until 2mins ago.
well done Darlo, well done Raj, Toddy and everyone else who've helped to turn us around and clear of any further FA penalties.

The Football league have susprised me, cos i wasnt convinced that their secretive points structure, which seems to evolve with every new case wouldnt catch us somehow.

get in

Fantastic news!! can't wipe the smile from my face and being the only darlo fan in the office, am getting some worrying looks my way.

Hopefully we can start building up the attendances to about 4-5k each game and who knows with a steady league position and a view of the play-off places by january then investment into the team may happen.

The team is looking pretty good considering the trials and tribulations the club, playing staff and ourselfs the fans have gone through in the last six months and I am confident we can compete in the league this year. Many a team has been promoted out this league with small budgets (Donny, yeovil, exeter, stockportto name a few) so why not us.

Cannot wait for tomorrow to arrive and win, lose or draw just getting to the start of the season out of admin and with no points deductions is mirraculous.

I'm sure everyone would give a massive thank you to Raj, and all those that have helped in getting us there.

Here's to a good season (hopefully)

we're all overjoyed at today's news, but lets keep it realistic eh, 3k a game would be a great achievement.

Right I must have missed it before, so can somebody run it by me again how averaging 3k which is about last seasons average and 1,000 less than previous seasons, is a great achievement? Thanks.

I agree with you in a way, but i also feel that after 6 months of turmoil that more of the 'occasional' fans will attend on a more regular basis. And by the sounds of things raj and the new board are keen to spend more time on 'football in the community' which if its done in a more professional approach can pay dividends by attracting more people to watch darlo than swan around darlo city centre in a chelski or united top.

because in the second half of the season attendances dwindled to around 2,500, plus that 3k we were getting was to watch top quality league 2 players and the club was around the top of the league.

do you think there's 3k people are going to turn up to watch a struggling mid table team week in week out when they couldnt even be arsed to turn up to watch a relatively good side flying high.

add that to the fact that we almost never had a football club this summer, and if we can play the whole season backed by 3000 fans, well i'd class that as a great achievement.

for every 100 fans over 3k we average for home league gates at the end of the season i'll give £5 to any charity you'd like to pick - or £10 to darlo's youth team

where's this points deduction the FA were gonna hit us with anyway mr knowitall?

Fantastic news, thanks to Raj and the directors plus Toddy and his staff and the excellent attitude shown by our new players - all a credit to themselves for the hard work they've been put through. Can't wait for tomorrow afternoon at The Rec.

We will get bigger gates this season I reckon. It is a mystery to me why so many people packed in watching last season, maybe they saw the writing on the wall I dunno.
