No matter how the voting goes it's down to the national league management to do what they in their eyes see right and proper, just like they did with the 11,million funding from national lotterys grants, and everyone knows how that turned out, total shambles,
Borehamwood not a 1,000 fans £252,000 of the grant, Chester over 2,400 fans £96,000 . No correlation between these clubs fan numbers but the smaller fanbase massively over paid, while the larger clubs massively under paid for lost gate revenues.
How can you trust the national league management after such calamities, truth ,trust, integrity, all missing clubs need to vote no confidence in the national league management.

If anyone ever wondered what "not fit for purpose" means - take a look at the shambolic way the that League decision makers have handled this crisis.

Only Jim from Dover comes out with any credit.
Totally agree with all above, in fact personally sent email to Dover FC to pass onto Jim P respecting him for his integrity in resigning from the Board.
Has anyone heard or seen anything from Brian Barwick? Hopefully all the other members will follow Jim P's example and do the decent thing by resigning, however decency, integrity and management ability are in very short supply with that lot.

This is an interesting read. I've copied off from Ollie's site, he seems to be the person who is most on the ball when it comes to this situation.

The government are adamant that any fault here lies with the League.

Worth mentioning that Jim was a member of the board that presided over the allocation of the initial grants, without feeling the need to resign over what many consider to have been very unfair distribution.

Maybe being unfair and he thought he might achieve more by staying on, but has now realised they are beyond redempition.

I can see more and more clubs taking matters into their own hands and refusing to play. Given that, correctly or not, the DCMS has made it clear that the NL is to blame, their integrity has gone and I think that any punishments meted out by the NL for clubs refusing to play would not be successful, and as Jim himself says, the punishments may not be legal anyway if they try to force clubs to take on loans. It'll soon turn into a free for all, made even worse by this decision to take it to a vote, which, (and I've commented on previously) may also be on dodgy grounds at the moment.

Ahh, the threatening letters are appearing. There must be something in the rulebook that works the other way. A clause or paragraph that states that the league will carry out it's role in a proper and cohesive way, treating all member clubs in an equal way and not force clubs to borrow money which breaks the very rules that they specify.

Who blinks first now?

National North could be a really small league next season.... maybe we'll end up playing Spennymoor in Northern League Division 2.

We’re going to have to take a firm position at some point. They’re bullying Dulwich also.

We should band together with clubs from the South as well as the North. Tell this lot where to stick their fines.

Dulwich Hamlet (National southern) It's so bizarre I wonder if it's correct.

I suspect it's 100% correct - the first 5 are all variations of the finance rules (all those variations used to lead to relegation).

the 6th one is failure to fulfil a game (fineable)

and the 7th one is fielding a below strength team (fineable).

This smacks of increasing desperation by the NL. It's like a teacher who has lost control dishing out class punishments. I honestly think that now teams could do what they wish without impunity. Dulwich have exposed the Catch 22 nature of the NL rules. Another person on that thread replies 'So which of those rules to ignore'. This has been retweeted many times, and I think if journalists do their job and expose this nonsense then the NL have nowhere to go. Any lawyer worth their salt will expose this nonsense as unenforceable.

If we're honest it should never have got this far with the Football association stepping in to try and sort the mess of the national league managements decisions out, they the national league are turning to bullying and harassment which is against their own rules, but hey ho they do what they can to shift the blame for this whole sorry saga onto someone else. They believe they are made of teflon, but they will come unstuck, people are taking notice of the resentment that is building up against the national league management,

Those letters to Curzon and Dulwich are interesting.

Is seems as if the NL Board have brought the charges & the NL Board have said they will be appointing the panel to decide the matter, if I have read the letters correctly

If that is correct, then it breaches the rules of Natural Justice that no many is to be prosecution and jury in a case. The FA have in recent years changed their rules so the cases are decided by an independent tribunal, seperate from the prosecution.

The NL could well be in difficulties if they are prosecuting and deciding the cases

I thought league disciplinary committees decided on breaches of league rules?

That's what it is on the EvoStik, North West Counties and Cheshire League.

I've had a look at the fixtures this Saturday, then matched them up to what clubs have being saying in their statements about playing, or rather not playing.

I'm not claiming to be bang on here but out of 11 fixtures it seems to me that only 3 have a chance of going ahead. And these are;

Gloucester/Chorley
K'minster/Darlo
Leamington /Chester (Chester said they would play if they were threatened by sanctions if they didn't, which they have been.)

We haven't said we won't be playing. If we weren't going to play then we should have told Kidderminster by now in my opinion.

Nope and they don't plan to from the statement you mention. They have basically ended the season.
Spennymoor wrote:It is the decision of the club’s ownership and board that we cannot expose either our people or our club to the considerable risks outlined above, and as a result this is for all intents and purposes the end of the 2020/21 season for Spennymoor Town FC. The club will not play tomorrow’s fixture vs AFC Telford United and does not intend to play again this season.
