Now that lived upto a classic Grand Final, happy Saints won and like comeondarlo have a definite dislike for Hardaker, as a Tigers fan he let us down so badly with his behavior then pissed off to Wigan never really apologised to Cas fans.
DP why Toulouse? I would rather see a traditional team like Featherstone given a chance, think league should be extended to 14 teams anyway, perhaps not next season but the one after, 26 games and maybe a Magic weekend as an extra.
Anyone know if England games are going to happen ?
I have only been to Toulouse the once in 2017 but it was a good experience and would be happy to go back.
That said, I also enjoy going to Feath though they do seem to have a grudge against KR. We have been a few times and they always have a gang that come onto the open end determined to cause aggro. Thankfully I always go in the seats in the main stand.
.
Which England games? The RFL are still selling for the world cup if that is what you mean. I think sales must be poor as I am emailed virtually daily about them even though I have already bought all I want.

Great to see that Newcastle Thunder have been promoted to the Championship & they will replace whoever gets promoted to the SL.

Yes, very happy with that. They are a well run club with lots of community work and involvement.
I doubt it will be long before they hit SL.
Also of course, a nice easy ride for me to get to.

Leigh Centurions promoted to the SL, I am genuinely shocked at this news.

I am not. Good ground,(apart from another bloody plastic pitch), and an owner that has been around a while
They have been signing a lot of released SL players.
Mind you having taken about 4-5 KR ex's they are going to struggle. I never slate players while with the club but some of the lads they have taken from us really are NOT SL class.
Early favourites to finish bottom and go back down.
I admit, I still have a big down on them after our last 2 games at CP.(1 cup,(2016) and 1 league game,(2018)), when they came and were total thugs. (They won the cup game but we turned them over in the league and sent them back down having taken our place in SL in 2017).

I agree I think they will really struggle & are likely to get thumped by some of the established teams. At least Hull KR should be able to remain in the SL at their expense!!

You want a bet for charity? We will not finish bottom 4 this season.

And in the unlikely event that I lose, I'll give my £20 to St Theresa's Hospice.

COD it wasn't me that proposed the bet, I was just responding to his post.

It’s not the bet per se I have a problem with but who the bet is with!
Ted is less than trustworthy as well you know and he still owes a couple of hundred pounds to the first season of the Sponsor a Goal scheme.
Yet you’ve had a ‘charity’ bet with him (that you’ll obviously win btw).

You never learn.......

It's the season to be charitable & forgiving. I can only take him on his word today, I will keep my end of the bet in the very unlikely event of Hull KR avoiding the bottom 4 next season.

Announced today.
Buzzing.
That is 5 real quality signings so far for KR and give us the 1 thing we have lacked since 2015.
A pack that will drive us forwards. We ain't going to be bullied this year, and the speed of our backs will torment defences as we showed last season.

KR were the first club back in training Pete and we only had a few days pre Christmas. You have to remember the game normally starts first week in Feb while this year it is a March start. As most clubs only play 2 pre season games, 3 at most it would have been a bit nonsensical to play a serious friendly on boxing day, though I know Featherstone were trying to arrange a kick about for non contracted players to see if they could pick up any new squad players. A bit surprising as they have already signed 14 new players to add to the 14 already signed and 3 they have given first pro contracts to from the academy.

Not good news they are looking to put the start of the SL back by at least 2 weeks & shelving the Magic Weekend in Newcastle set for May.

The problems are pilling up. No magic if no fans makes total sense, BUT, I and many more have already paid for our tickets so money for refunds will be needed. Further and it is tricky but some clubs including Newcastle have added magic tickets as part of their season tickets offers.
.
This means we can totally write off pre season games I think so players will be going in "cold" thus risk yet more injuries.
.
Reading that I am somewhat confused and going to do some checking as I know we had started pre season training and I have been getting video's of training and interviews with the new players. At what point did we stop? OK the interviews could all have been done in a day or 2 and being rolled out to keep interest, but I think it is 6 training video's I have seen. Seems strange if we only trained a short time. Talking to Kane Linett's wife tomorrow on a group chat so I will ask her.

Personally I think we need a lockdown even tighter than the first 1 until the majority of people have been given the vaccine or we are never going to be clear of this. Certainly team sport in this situation is plain stupid.

Pete, re' the training bit in the BBC post, KR, Dull, Leeds, and Wakey at the very least are all training. I am told Cas are as well, but that was second hand news.

SL is in talks with Newcastle United about moving the date of the Magic Weekend. Personally I'd be happy if it was held over the summer, which will give a chance for us to get beyond all of the covid 19 issues. But realistically I think they'll struggle to run the event this year.

Getting rid of "loop" games brings it down to 22 games from 27 for the bottom half and drop the play off's to top 3 only. 2 play 3 and winner play the Champions.
it really is not rocket science.
The only reason to move magic is if we still can't have fans in so try an either or date. If no fans allowed then simply stop it. The entire "magic" of magic is meeting up with fans from all clubs at the same time, and quite seriously, while I like Newcastle as it is close to me Kingston Park would be a better ground as it is a real rugby ground.
I still say the year we went to Blackpool was the best I have been to.

Kingston Park would not be bog enough for the Magic Weekend, even if crowds are allowed to return as normal. SL fans would not be keen on having to get a bus or metro out to the suburbs. The whole idea of the Magic Weekend is to hold it in a city centre, where fans can meet & socialise,

I have been to a few you know Pete. I do know the idea.
The only thing I have against Sid James grotto is that when you are sat there there are so many empty seats.
They always plonk us in the Gallowgate end and being lower down than both sides you really realise how cavernous it is when not full.
So long as Salford, Wakey, Udders and Leigh are split 2 on each day Kingston park would be full, but would just about manage numbers.(Only Saints, Wigwam, Dull and KR sold over 3000 tickets last year). Many went to people who do not normally do rugby league.(Unless people bought from the RFL instead of buying from their own clubs which makes no sense as the clubs keep the money they collect for ticket sales). That of course does not take in the points about the city booze up, but then, I would not think that way as I am not a boozer.
PS, Liverpool is hardly "city centre"

It's a sad state of affairs when the decision will be based on conversations with Sky, it shows that Sky is now the principal force in RL & they are pulling all the strings.

I still think the popularity of a Newcastle Magic Weekend, would dissipate if it was decided to play at Kingston Park, rather than St James Park.

At the moment I have had no word of any pre season games.
If there are going to be any I would expect to hear in the next week or so. I will let you know when I hear.
You could always join the RFL and you get lots of info on all clubs and also first choice at tickets etc.

Pete, why on earth do you insist on feeding the trolls?
Someone joins Uncovered with an obviously trouble making name and immediately posts the same comment on 2 posts and you straight away eat the bait.
.
You could at least be a tad more truthful with your comment rather than give him more food.
Lone Star can confirm, (because I sent him a copy of the pm I sent you), and because he tried to help me sort the problem that stops me using Zoom.
I also said that as soon as isolation allows I will happily travel to Darlo to meet up. As I had my first jab last week hopefully that will be sooner rather than later, but hey, if you want to drive up to Otterburn, (Look out for Spen as you pass Bellingham) while we are in lockdown, or when it ends, just let me know and I will direct you to my bungalow from there.
Just to re-relay the info you seem to have forgotten, my computer monitor does not have a camera and Zoom will not recognise my web cam, and I use a Samsung Galaxy S4 which does not have the tech' to accept Zoom, or even messenger come to that.
Let me know when you are coming up and I will send you a phone number to keep in touch en'route.
