Gutted not at home. Dont know if we will get a TV game from this one.
Re: Away to Bristol rovers
Hehe, AA must have heard me - he just mentioned it on the BBC.
Re: Away to Bristol rovers
Let's just enjoy it. Mid table league one side it's a tough game and not a glamour tie but we should just enjoy it for what it is.

The entire draw is pretty awful. Only Barnet have got an EFL side at home, out of the non-league qualifiers.
Both Step 4 sides are at home but to other non-league sides.
Not beyond the realms we get a TV tie given how poor the pickings are elsewhere.
Either way, we can’t control the draw and while a home tie would’ve been better, it’s still another good chance to test ourselves.
We did beat them 10 years ago in the Cup at the Arena.

Am I the only one who thinks it is a decent draw ? A long way to go but another chance to pit ourselves against a pro team. Again nothing to loses and all the pressure on them. They will be wary with our results at Swindon and Walsall.

Re: Away to Bristol rovers
Tough draw but no reason why we cannot get a result. Bottom half of league one, don't score a lot of goals, no pressure on us so you just never know.Better than Peterborough or Portsmouth away and with no crowds should even things up significantly. If we had been drawn at home against them, without doubt would have been televised.
Gutted when the draw was first announced but on reflection we can still make it to round 3.

Re: Away to Bristol rovers
Must admit I didn't think it was a great draw, mainly down to travelling for the team, was hoping for home draw against lower league team, but it is what it is, and team is playing well and improving each game.
Are you going to do another overnight stop for players fund raiser again Mark?

We need them to have a player sent off like Wigan.

Re: Away to Bristol rovers
There were better draws potentially especially when we were one of the last out. However, as some have alluded to, Bristol Rovers are currently not much better than Swindon and we can go there with the same attitude and under-dog tag that may just work in our favour again and we do have cup previous against them in the cup albeit from 10 years ago. If we get through to the 3rd round then we'll have definitely earnt it!
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"
Re: Away to Bristol rovers
Yes they are midd table league 1 ,but we will go there full of confidence and we can win .positivity has to be shown in all that Darlington FC do.

Re: Away to Bristol rovers
£25500 to winners, £8500 for the runners up
Re: Away to Bristol rovers
Again, it's just not a great draw. I can only hope we've turned some heads with our win in the last round and we make it on TV.
I just wish we were making them travel up here than vice versa.
Look at it, I'm guessing prime candidates for TV games will be:
Peterborough vs Chorley
Portsmouth vs Kings Lynn
After that, it really is a toss-up. A lot of very meh games.

Canvey Island (Step 8) v Boreham Wood (Step 5) is surely nailed on?H1987 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 8:12 pmAgain, it's just not a great draw. I can only hope we've turned some heads with our win in the last round and we make it on TV.

Barnet v MK Dons is perhaps a likely candidate for a shock also.
