Great performance from the team today.
The pitch suited our play, which was slick & fast moving.
Campbell was outstanding as was Sousa.
Nice to see the goals being spread around rather than relying on Charman.
As for the streaming, it goes to show how lucky we are having the team we have at Darlofans radio & Quaker TV. It has been outstanding so far especially compared to the poor presentation by Curzon today, boring one sided commentary, no replays etc..

Enjoyed watching that, coverage was good, but no replays, hi lights and Darlo commentary, which makes all the difference. So it’s a 7 from me.
What a result though

Typical that just when we start hitting form, Boris shuts the whole country down. At least Hatfield will have a chance to recover fitness.
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
I wouldn't say it was poor, it was about average for what i would expect from a small club trying to supply a service. So what if the commentator was biased? It was their stream!Footifanreturns wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 5:53 pmAs for the streaming, it goes to show how lucky we are having the team we have at Darlofans radio & Quaker TV. QTV is on another level without a doubt but theres no need to be harsh on others clubs efforts. They generally have a smaller pool to get help from as well.

So with a national lockdown imminent, will that mean the postponement of games of footie?
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Work from home if you can, footballers cant do that. I would think that this being a trade then the players will be allowed to continue playing.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 6:45 pmSo with a national lockdown imminent, will that mean the postponement of games of footie?

Step 3 and below to stop with immediate effect. Elite status can continue
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Just watched the replay and doesn't look to be great for Nicky Hunt. Looked like a muscle or worse went. Edit: Just looked at official site. Another bloody hamstring. Not sure what is up with McMahon either.

The match report says it was a precaution after a hamstring ‘tweak’.

Yep, it was what I expected. Can’t exactly complain about commentaries being one-sided when Quaker TV is (quite justifiably) the same! Some people just enjoy talking down other clubs.loan_star wrote:I wouldn't say it was poor, it was about average for what i would expect from a small club trying to supply a service. As for the result, very impressive today. Getting the first league win is always important and several outstanding performances. Hunt’s best performance since joining, so hopefully the injury isn’t too seriously.

AA reckons he will be fine, that will do for me.Darlofan97 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 8:49 pmThe match report says it was a precaution after a hamstring ‘tweak’.
Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
In that scenario both are elite so no issues
There are plenty of non elite v elite ties mind...almost exclusively all the televised ones!

It's all about opinions, I believe we are still allowed those?
I am fine with you thinking it was average, as we haven't really had chance to view other streams it is hard to say whether that is the norm or not. I thought it was poor presentation...but we are are spoiled by having such a wonderful team doing ours.

What a signing Sousa looks to be . To think if we had not been drawn against Tadcaster in the cup we wouldn't have seen him.
Great performance. Hunt another big positive today but everyone good.

Did I say you werent allowed an opinion? Its just I thought you were being harsh.Footifanreturns wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 10:40 pmWe are a small club !loan_star wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 6:39 pmI wouldn't say it was poor, it was about average for what i would expect from a small club trying to supply a service. Yes we are a small club but we have around 1500 regular fans, Curzon have around 400. Big difference with the pool of talent available.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
So if Sousa continues the way he did yesterday & with a fit Will Hatfield back soon, do you play both after the cup tie ?
I thought Sousa was more effective when he cut inside, which he did more so in the second half.
I suppose Sousa, Hatfield, Wheatley, Rivers would be very tasty going forward or do we need a defensive midfielder in there ?
A very nice problem to have.

Just listened to the Curzon managers post match interview and it was nothing to do with how well we played but just down to how badly his team performed.

We play Hatfield, Wheatley and Holness (once he is fully match fit). There is no better midfield trio.Footifanreturns wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 5:05 pmSo if Sousa continues the way he did yesterday & with a fit Will Hatfield back soon, do you play both after the cup tie ?

Sousa would be on the bench for me initially - but as the games will soon start coming thick and fast (if the season makes it through to the end) AA will have to rotate, injuries will come etc so he will no doubt mix things up.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
Thought we might come to regret those missed chances in the first half but we did improve and Hedley did well dropping to RB . Wins breed confidence and hopefully we give a good account against Swindon We are real underdogs but who knws
As always if we pick up a few injuries next month or players in isolation the team goes back to picking itself but AA has proved he can control the budget and find players who are of good enough quality.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20
I thought the stream was fine. I get the impression it's a pretty standard fare. Friends who support league clubs say even their streams are single camera affairs too. I think people expecting anything resembling QTV standard for streams of away games are going to be disappointed more often than not - which is full credit to the extra effort the QTV team have gone to to provide us with a service which puts some pro clubs to shame.
On the pitch - comfortably our best performance of the season. We looked loads sharper and cohesive. Everyone played well, but I thought Reid had his best game for us so far. Hedley looks more comfortable at RB than in midfield to me, and Hunt absolutely walked through the game. Going forwards we have loads of options. Charman continues to impress - he looks like a proper all round player, and we've still got Maguire to come back properly too.
