Hereford
Just watched the news lots of flooding in the Hereford area and more rain agin for next weekend so this one might be doubtful going by the forecast. Do the players travel overnight for Hereford I’m sure they did last year?
Re: Hereford
Hereford were inviting anyone who was affected by the floods to report to their reception today for support which suggest it's not too bad.

Re: Hereford
I guess it'll depend how far Edgar Street is from the river, but the game must be in doubt especially if there is more rain before the weekend.

Re: Hereford
Might be a question of not being able to get the team to Hereford

Re: Hereford
Cheers for that Harry. Well the ground is a couple of inches away from Edgar Street on the map, so hopefully it won't impact on the game going ahead. But the prospect of further heavy rain has to be a concern.
Re: Hereford
HFC have opened their doors to act as a refuge for some of those affected. So no, Edgar street won't be under water.Darlo_Pete wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 12:33 amI guess it'll depend how far Edgar Street is from the river, but the game must be in doubt especially if there is more rain before the weekend.
There will not be a problem getting the team there. More likely there will be riots as fans despair at the amateur way their club is being run.
Slowly their fan owned model being submerged in a sea of infighting.

Re: Hereford
I went a few years back. The ground is quite close to the river and that bridge dominates the whole area.

Re: Hereford
Certainly there is serious flooding on the south side of the bridge, on the north side the land rises and the town center and Edgar street are flood free and will remain so however much rain falls. Condition of pitch I cannot say at the moment.theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 8:38 amI went a few years back. You don't need to come across this bridge to get to the ground.

Hopefully they'll feel tired after tonight's trip to Kettering.

Re: Hereford
Pretty slim chance this game will go ahead, if not for the condition of the pitch then for the water levels in the surrounding areas. If it is off it would be interesting if an open training session could be arranged, maybe a couple of quid in to raise some funds?

Re: Hereford
Very good chance game will go ahead. Pitch looked OK to me this afternoon. Water levels going down and they were never going to prevent travelling in to Hereford.MB86DFC wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 9:14 amPretty slim chance this game will go ahead, if not for the condition of the pitch then for the water levels in the surrounding areas. Re: Hereford
Apparently Styche has left today "by mutual consent"
Re: Hereford
Gone to Bromsgrove Sporting in the league below before any of our fans start to get nostalgic.

Re: Hereford
Agree with all that, but it was his goals in 17/18 season that helped keep us from dropping back into the Evostick.Old Git wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 1:51 pmNot nostalgic at all for Styche. A bit of a bad penny by the look of it with a massive ego. The exact opposite of the players we currently have.

Also helped the club's income with his celebration and subsequent social media support for that competition.banktopp wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 2:37 pmAgree with all that, but it was his goals in 17/18 season that helped keep us from dropping back into the Evostick.Old Git wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 1:51 pmNot nostalgic at all for Styche. It clearly doesn't work out for Styche at most clubs and I imagine there is an underlying reason for it, but I could never fault him when he played here. He appeared to have a genuine affinity for the club and in the first season was lethal in front of goal.
It was disappointing he became a scapegoat for a minority of fans, after our bad start to last season, when in reality it became evident the squad assembled was dump.

Re: Hereford
Personally I prefer team players. After Styche got his call up for Gibraltar (whilst playing for us) it all went downhill.
Loss of form - slagged off from the Tinshed, then numerous transfers downwards. I think he sees himself as top dog but to be top dog you need to be Gabbiadini standard - which not many are.

Re: Hereford
Totally agree. Clearly he scored some important goals for us but he was on a really good wage so he was only doing what he was well paid to do.Old Git wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 1:51 pmNot nostalgic at all for Styche. Re: Hereford
Tbh, Styche made us money and is comfortably the best striker we've had at the club since our kick down the leagues. His face did seem to fit here, which seems to stand in contrast to absolutely everywhere else he seems to have been his entire career.
Re: Hereford
Is it that comfortable? It's opinions but I wouldn't have swapped Styche for O'Neill when we had him, and I wouldn't swap Campbell for Styche right now. It's probably also touch and go if you gave me a choice of Andrew Nelson or Styche as well.
Re: Hereford
Forgot about Nelson tbh. I think I’d have peak Styche ahead of the other two though.

Re: Hereford
Blimey he must have had to take a pay cut to move down a league?
Re: Hereford
He'd be behind Nelson, Beck and Campbell for my money. He was good while here but hes not here anymore and hes not likely gotten any; more northern, cheaper or younger.H1987 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 5:47 pmForgot about Nelson tbh. I think I’d have peak Styche ahead of the other two though.
