I think you'll find grytters and I were engaging in a bit of banter. It's not quite the same as the endless reams of point scoring and argument you find so much fun. Now you've got me at it! My last comment on location, their official Twitter says Urmston.

One person’s banter is another person’s tedious pointlessness. And we’ve had a week of this - if I’d been going on for a week, I can only imagine your faux outrage.don'tbuythesun wrote:I think you'll find grytters and I were engaging in a bit of banter. Nor have “got you” doing anything. You engage because you want to. Weird you try and make out otherwise.

Not so much a case of Who Do You Think You Are as Where do you think you are? Whatever the outcome I think I'll be leaving plenty of time to get there on Saturday!Darlogramps wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 9:28 amOne person’s banter is another person’s tedious pointlessness. No "faux outrage" here. I've been reading your tedious pointlessness for years, not a week. Merci.

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
Of course, we all know that’s not true. You love getting involved in my arguments, you comment every time. So yes, there is faux outrage on your part.don'tbuythesun wrote:No "faux outrage" here. I've been reading your tedious pointlessness for years, not a week. Merci.
Just pointing out your double standards.

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
I think we’ll win this by a 3 or 4 goal margin.
Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
I think Barry conlon will be named miss world
Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
They're saying they've won 4 of their last 5 ties against higher league opposition. I don't see what can possibly go wrong for us

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
I`ll be happy if we win 1-0.
Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
Think I'd join you in that sentiment. Clean sheets are important at the minute, start keeping a few and we have a really good chance of winning games. Only 3 sides have stopped us from scoring this season; BPA (although we hit the post 3 times and missed a penalty at the end), Kings Lynn who have the best home form in the division and York who have the best away form in the division and the best defence. A more convincing win would be ideal, but a clean sheet, a bit of cash and going into the hat on Monday pretty much ticks all the boxes.

Can’t disagree with any of that at all.JE93 wrote:Think I'd join you in that sentiment. A flukey 1-0 win with the ball ricocheting into the net off Thommo’s arse will suit me just fine.

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
Well I wasn't expecting to make this game, but now I can go. What is the betting that I end up at the wrong ground?

At least you would not witness another early cup exit

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
I think we will have a good cup run, we surely due some luck in future cup draws. I cant make this one, ( on a 13 mile charity walk), or the next one, (being positive here, as already booked up with a boozy day with friends I don't get to see often, booked that date as when set assumed we would not make the next round, but now I do).

"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

It must be our turn for a bit of luck in the FA Cup. However if we suffer a defeat alarms bells will definitely be ringing.50 years wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 8:55 pmI think we will have a good cup run, we surely due some luck in future cup draws. Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
there's a lot of negativity which I can understand. Still fully expect us to win. I think with O'Neill back, we will be too good up front for them
Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
Armstong has confirmed in his interview that O'Neill will be back which is a big boost for us. I'd imagine if Liddle passed a fitness test for the bench last week he will be capable of starting this weekend. Big question now is whether Laing is fit or not and what damage he did to his hamstring.
I'm expecting Watson at CB with Tez and Liddle coming in at LB. O'Neill in for Holness. Rest of the team to stay the same from last weekend. Hopefully it will be enough for the result we want.

Last call for Mr Burns? Can Holness play in the back 4? Or is it time for one of the youths to step up? AA must be getting tired of having this bad run of injuries and having to make difficult decisions, but that is what he is there for. In AA we trust (& hope!)

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
To be honest I still wouldn't put Burn in. Laing to face a fitness test before the game. If he fails it I'd expect. A back four of Hedley, Galbriath, Watson, Liddle.
Guess the positive is Laing is fit enough for a fitness test, means most likely, even if he doesnt pass for the game tomorrow, he should be fit enough for Alfreton next week. I wouldn't want to go to the land of the giants with either Burn or Watson at CB.

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
Would we suit going to a 3? Watson and Hedley either side of Tez. Liddle Hatfield, Wheatley and Rivers in a 4. Thompson, Campbell and O’Neil up front. Not saying I would do this, just putting an idea out thereJE93 wrote:To be honest I still wouldn't put Burn in. Laing to face a fitness test before the game. If he fails it I'd expect.
