So £40k up after 5 full days of BTB.

181 investors compared to 420 last year, so 239 missing investors currently. That's not a dig as not everyone can or wants to give every year.

I would hope we can add an extra 120 or so though at the average of £221.54 which would give a further £26.6k taking us to £66.7k which is excellent even if the target was £80k.
What makes you think we'll only get another 120 investors Les?

I see no reason why we can't match last years effort both in terms of overall investors, and £££s raised.
I didn't think we would get anywhere near £80k last year and was very surprised at what we did get, I hope we do but I am trying to be cautious. Also I think we may have a drop out due to not getting value for money last year and I just think some will give it a miss this year.

However with 24 days to go and a new manager to be revealed in that time then hopefully that can push us to 80k again.
Looks like my cautious approach was incorrect

7 and half days to go and we are at £76,212, so less than 4k to go.

We clearly have a hardcoe of 400 or so fans who are willing to finance the club on an ongoing basis, amazing really. Well done to all and roll on some signings, pre-season and another season starts.

Hopefully the change of manager has reset the boundaries of what is achievable in BTB. Whilst last year tapped into the core 400 who are prepared to dig deep (yet again) it may be that the recent boost given to the fund on the AA announcement is indicative that more people may still be prepared to invest. It is has often been the case that when a fundraiser is announced there is a rush to invest at the start and at the end with a lull in the middle. If that pattern remains true then we could still be in for a big finish, possibly getting the total to £90,000+

I understand that, it was more of a ‘look what the fans are doing ‘ type comment, and the big surge in monies since your appointment.

I was one of the first to BTB last year - this year although I intend to pledge (and increase it slightly) I haven't done it yet.

I'm waiting until we've beaten last year's 86k

Anyone else who means to pledge but who has held off so far?

Every call for funds taps into the same core people. Always has and no doubt always will. It's getting the other 700 or so regulars to commit that's our issue. Obviously some may not be able to, but a good proportion will. It's understanding why they won't to see if there's anything that can be done to change this.

Wow, £77,057 up now - just £2,943 to go to that target now! Can we clear £80,000 by tonight? I think we can.

Pledges wlll inevitably slow down over the bank holiday weekend, but despite that I think we have a real chance of matching last season's 86k by Monday night?

Then 4 days run in, what can we achieve, will there be a mad rush at the end like last season, or have more people contributed earlier this year?

If there is a bit of a rush next week, we've honestly got a chance of hitting 100k...look at that again...£100,000...one hundred thousand pounds. That would be incredible, dare to dream?

It certainly looks as if some fans didn't contribute last year because they weren't convinced by TW as a manager, and maybe this year with AA they are convinced.
David Johnston in an interview last May said that 419 contributors was 33% of the average fan base. He said that to go forward with the fan owned model than we'd hopefully see an increase to 40% - that would be 508 contributors. (Then I think he said we'd need 50% to be competitive in the National League) Can we hit that? As Quakerz says, dare to dream. For me, the number of contributors is kind of just as important as the amount raised.

Ghost, I hope the other 28 or so still missing from last year's numbers don't have the same strategy or we might never get there!

I promise I will finally get round to it this weekend. Upping mine slightly from last year. Cant be said enough, when it comes to supporting the club our fan base is unbelievable.

If we get some positive signings announced early next week might push it on towards £90k. Whatever happens the fans have shown once again that they are behind this club and willing to provide the support we need to keep on developing as a club.

Again our wonderful supporters have reached the BTB target, still with time to go well past it.
I don't mind admitting that it makes me proud to support this club. One good reason why this club did not die back in 2012 was the determination of a few dedicated fans and volunteers, and now we appear to have a hardcore of 400 supporters who are willing to contribute each year to BTB. A truly fan owned club and with DJ in charge we can only go from strength to strength.

Judging by the several small sums that I have seen going in I am tempted to think that this year there is a greater number, above and beyond the usual suspects, who feel moved to contribute in whatever way they can afford. Good on everyone who is willing to do this and share the load.

Over 82k now, can see us hitting 90k. If we have good news regarding signings, then 100k is on IMO.

My one slight worry is that some fans might get carried away (especially when the signings start rolling in) and potentially pledge more than what they can afford.

Seems to have slowed down the last few days could be a struggle to get to 90k. Let's hope for a few investors for the last three days.

Thought it was £86k last year?

Either way, brilliant achievement and I'm genuinely quite surprised we've done it again.

I will second that, considering what the club and supporters have endured to varying degrees throughout the club's history!
