Good appointment and he should bring a number of players with him, hope we keep hold of Trotman though.

Re: New Manager Interviews this week
Greats news, he's hardly put a foot wrong in his three-year managerial career to date and will instil a new sense of optimism and drive into our club. Well done to everyone for getting this recruitment process spot on, doing everything in a professional manner and getting this great appointment across the line. I can see us smashing Boost the Budget and winning back some of the fans who stayed away. There'll be a new purpose about the club now.
Blyth will completely implode now. Their fans were already turning on the owners for losing two big players and this will put the tin hat on it for many.

Re: New Manager Interviews this week
If Blyth fans want to see AA & those exiting, they would be welcome to boost the gates at BM.
Seems like we got our man, so let's get behind him and start building a side to win in style.
Well done to our negotiators. Now they are not so busy , could they give us a hand to sort Brexit

Very good news. This could really get a buzz going and the board have been so professional with the transition. All very heartening - a shame about Blyth though but alls fair in love and the National League.
Armstrong is an admirer of Thompson so we might see an attractive attack minded team.

Very happy with this appointment. I don’t really understand some people that are complaining about him being annoyed about the budget situation at Blyth. He was expected to put a side together from the Northern League because of significant budget cuts, I’d be alarmed if a National League North manager wasn’t up in arms about it.

Not seen anyone up in arms.Darlo2807 wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 3:30 pmVery happy with this appointment. I will be honest I am largely happy with Armstrong, however I don't like how he put the pressure on the board and turned the fans against them.
They were overspending and have significant long term debt that the current Blyth board will have to write off, if they can't keep on putting in then what did he want them to do.
So for me we will need a strong board to keep him right and I hope it never comes to him trying to drive a divide between the fans/board - its not what we need.
After that though I hope he does really well and I will support him. I would't expect to naturally get Blyth's best players though as from what I heard Spenny are circling as we would expect.
Re: New Manager Interviews this week
Spenny will have a bigger squad than Chelsea soon. One way or another there's sure to be some good players becoming available.

A lot will depend on his relationship with players it’s nearly always the case that some players will want to play for him rather than another team
Re: New Manager Interviews this week
I’ve seen that Armstrong is our choice and expected to be new manager ... not seen anything anywhere to say that he is mind ... thought we’d have a bit more fanfare

Re: New Manager Interviews this week
People are right there has not been an official club announcement as yet. However its on the echo site and twitter that the deal is done. Don't think the echo would report a not happening.it should be announced officially this evening.

Spenny have offered eye watering money to 3 Blyth players, and you can bet your bottom dollar that a) we want all 3, b) they won't all get a regular game there, and c) it's more about denying Darlo than improving their squad.

Re: New Manager Interviews this week
Really wish Spenny would do one, if McGuire is one of them, they play with a lone striker and have Boyes warming the bench. No way would he start ahead of Taylor and you are probably spot on.The echo did state that the new manager had players lined up so let’s wait and see.Ghost_Of_1883 wrote:Spenny have offered eye watering money to 3 Blyth players, and you can bet your bottom dollar that a) we want all 3, b) they won't all get a regular game there, and c) it's more about denying Darlo than improving their squad.

Of course once is Maguire, let’s be honest Spenny would be stupid to not be in for him.quakerman wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 4:43 pmReally wish Spenny would do one, if McGuire is one of them, they play with a lone striker and have Boyes warming the bench.

I’m guessing he hasn’t actually signed contract, once he does then it will be official.

Re: New Manager Interviews this week
Buddle is rumoured to be one of the names they’re after but not sure on the third.
Re: New Manager Interviews this week
Spenny will probably allow us to sign Jameson.
Re: New Manager Interviews this week
You've got Morpeth joining the party now as well with their minted owner saying he wants them to go as far as they can with the immediate sights on National North, hence the Sean Reid signing.
