Darlington V Nuneaton
I don't often say it , but , this is a must win game. Every player must give 100% from the first to the last whistle, we need a performance that will inspire the crowd, the players and management.

Re: Darlington V Chester
Oh no. We've all been transported back a week in a time warp like Groundhog day and have to relive last week again.

Re: Darlington V Chester
I predict a 1-3 defeat despite us playing against 10 men. Hat-trick for that Asante chap, representing an incredible upturn in form for a striker averaging 5 goals a season before the game. It’s just a hunch.

Re: Darlington V Chester
Away at stockport too, must have a big squad.
Re: Darlington V Chester
Well this all appears to be going just fine.
Re: Darlington V Chester
1,064 crowd. People have had enough and are staying away.
Re: Darlington V Chester
Honestly, if he is still manager this time tomorrow we need a serious explanation as to why.

Re: Darlington V Chester
The serious explanation will be obvious. We can't afford it. More so with today's attendance.

Seen as though DJ is more bothered about pounds than points, its today's gate that is most likely to get Tommy sacked.Vodka_Vic wrote:1,064 crowd. People have had enough and are staying away.

I think today's attendance shows why we can't afford to keep him

Resigned to relegation now if the status quo continues.

There's plenty to play for and loads of points to fight for.Vodka_Vic wrote:Resigned to relegation now if the status quo continues.

Re: Darlington V Chester
But we clearly are not capable of picking any of these points up.
Re: Darlington V Chester
How long is he under contract for? Please tell me it's only the rest of this season.
Gardening leave might be an option if that's the case, and he won't agree to walk / severance for less.

Re: Darlington V Chester
Seems like things got heated after the game. On the radio announcer asking people to calm down and leave the ground? The Smiths playing in the background but not "heaven knows I'm miserable now" which surely would have been a better choice. Should be at Chorley and Altrincham next two Saturdays but Christmas shopping has a new found appeal.
Re: Darlington V Chester
We can if we fund raise to pay off his contact. I'm in.Ghost_Of_1883 wrote:The serious explanation will be obvious. We can't afford it. More so with today's attendance.

What a shambles we are in.

Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
Johnston and even his missus copping some atrocious abuse at the end of the game.
We could be managerless and chief executive less in the next few days. Then we’re in s*** street again, and who in their right mind would want to take it on.
When I hear people saying sack the board I can’t decide whether they’re stupid or under some sort of weird illusion that we’re an attractive proposition for an individual to take on the role considering the appalling and over the top abuse they get when things start going wrong.

Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
The mismanagement is astonishing, we seemingly have become a club with a threadbare squad and no money to do anything about it. Did Wright spunk all the budget on Ainge's wages or something? I don't know who is to blame, DJ might be trying to repair mismanagement from the past, but the plan of breaking even no matter what isn't working out well.

Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
Luckily we play York next or the attendance would be below 1,000.
Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
Some of our fans are mental aren't they? Like seat-gate taught us nothing.
Dj wants us to break even. So do I. Wright spunked his budget on a load of pea hearted lightweights. That's not dj's fault.

He has said he'll walk away if he gets any more abuse.
Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
As if we aren’t up s*** creek already! Granted it was the wrong way to go about it but we need a voice otherwise nothing will changeGow9900 wrote:Johnston and even his missus copping some atrocious abuse at the end of the game.

You have to wonder if this is the beginning of the end of our " fan owned model" for Darlington F.CGow9900 wrote:Johnston and even his missus copping some atrocious abuse at the end of the game.

Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
Listened to the end of the game on the radio and it sounded like it was getting pretty bad at the end of the game, with around 50 fans protesting. Let's hope it didn't turn ugly.
Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
Is this the beginning of the end for Darlington FC in general. People were livid with us overspending, people are struggling to come to terms with us attempting to live within our means, so to end fan ownership we would have to have a very wealthy benefactor come in to bankroll the club so that the club can progress.banktopp wrote:You have to wonder if this is the beginning of the end of our " fan owned model" for Darlington F.CGow9900 wrote:Johnston and even his missus copping some atrocious abuse at the end of the game.

But, how many multi millionaires are going to want to take a club out of fan ownership that:
- Owns nothing
- plays at a ground that generates no income for the club on non match days
- is in an agreement that let’s just say is very favourable for the landlord and not us
- generates very little income
- can’t even get 1,500 regularly at games despite representing a town of over 100,000 ppl.
I’m not sure that person/people exist personally. And for the record, I totally agree with a lot of people that Tommy should go.
