Tannoy
Tannoy
On behalf of everyone who was complaining in the main stand at BM last Saturday, can I make a plea to those in control (?) of the Tannoy to turn the volume down when the music is being blasted out. We couldn't hear ourselves think at halftime, let alone hold a conversation, and at least one person said they wouldn't be coming back if it was always like this. If you doubt there's a problem, just go and sit in the centre under the main loudspeakers. The decibels have got to be above health and safety levels.
And then there's the choice of so-called music... who is it who picks this stuff?

Someone said they wouldn’t come back because of the volume of the tannoy, wow, Darlo fans are actually laughable, come up with the most extraordinary excuses.

It sometimes is bad though Sam. Before a game at the end of last season we were near deafened by it - it was painful.
And 'excuses' is the wrong word - as no one has to turn up to see us. The casual/occasional fan will go if they enjoy it, and won't if they don't.
Unlike some of us.

But it’s like saying let’s go to a club then complain there’s loud music. It’s absolutely petty, if you can waver your support over something like that then sorry but you should take a long hard look at yourself.

If we are trying to improve the overall match day experience then the quality of things like tannoy announcements and choice of music, while not vital, do need to be considered and are an area that can be improved easily and cheaply. Perhaps a mixture of music from the sixties right up to the present with the volume turned down a bit would be more appreciated by our older supporters.

It must need to be that loud so you can hear it at the opposite end lol!
Stand other end and it is like a whisper

Re: Tannoy
I sit in the stand and have to agree the sound quality is awful. Excessively loud and very tinny. Would be happy for it to be turned down a few decibels.
Re: Tannoy
Hi,
I mentioned this on Twitter on Saturday. I will take a walk over on Wednesday and sort out the sound level. Nothing worse than loud music so will get it turned down.
Where i stand I can’t hear anything as the speakers aren’t near me. So any issues like this then let me know and I can sort it out straight away. Because of the location of the equipment the settings are constantly being changed for some reason. I will make it part of my pre match routine to walk around the ground.

Re: Tannoy
Quick and helpful response. If you're not happy with the song choice how about making some suggestions?

Re: Tannoy
Is anyone surprised by this issue. After all the origin of the word is from the Yorkshire dialect word T' Annoy.
