Raise the roof
I know that we've had a lot going on over the last month or so, and we are still waiting to see how things will work our on the pitch, but elsewhere I've been amazed to see the progess of the raising of money to get the required upgrade of the ground sorted. Whilst there seems to be some hope that we are back on track on the pitch, it's heartening to see that the raise the roof fund requires less than £18,000 in the next month and a half. Whether or not we are able to get back into a playoff position for the end of the season, it will be great to know that this will not be thwarted by our lack of ground facilities like last year. Earlier in the year we looked to be a million miles from being able to achieve this but it now looks more than doable.
Re: Raise the roof
Fantastic achievement. It would have been great to reach the target by the end of November and got the cladding ordered erected and seats in place for the York game.
Come on let's make this happen.
We're a laughing stock you know rattling our buckets.

Re: Raise the roof
I'll be honest - I thought we'd get nowhere near raising the amount. To need less than 18k with 6 weeks or so to raise it is a staggering effort

Someone just chucked £5,000 in!
Re: Raise the roof
Only 12,495 now required, maybe we can achieve this by the end of November.

Fair point - he completely torpedoed the start of this fundraisingbanktopp wrote:It is the Gray effect.al_quaker wrote:I'll be honest - I thought we'd get nowhere near raising the amount. To need less than 18k with 6 weeks or so to raise it is a staggering effort

Re: Raise the roof
2 different people have chucked in over 5k in the last few days. Now that's what investment means.

Re: Raise the roof
Another 1000 put in. Now down to 11,495 looking like this may be raised by the end of the month.
If all who attend on Saturday stick a tenner in the bucket we will be there.
Let's get it over the line.

Re: Raise the roof
Given previous fundraising asks, I'd expect the remaining money needed to be raised quite quickly and before the deadline.

Re: Raise the roof
Only 5.5k to go now.
Let's get that steel ordered, Johnston said on Thu night that he was looking for quotes to try and drive the price down if possible.
Just short of 210k raised since end of April (that does include Raj 10k mind )

Yep, only £5,505 now needed, fantastic effort by everyone involved.
Will be putting in £20 in to the buckets today. Momentum recently has been fantastic.

Re: Raise the roof
A lot of positives going into today's match. A couple of wins in the next two home games and we'll be right back on track.

Re: Raise the roof
If the Communtiy Shares pitch reaches 30k will that be closed? The only thing is that we may be waiting quite a bit for the other two pitches to raise the last 5k.
Re: Raise the roof
Can't we have a slice of Carts' transfer fee?

From the fundraising site:Vodka_Vic wrote:If the Communtiy Shares pitch reaches 30k will that be closed? The only thing is that we may be waiting quite a bit for the other two pitches to raise the last 5k.
So yes the CS offer can be subscribed up to £50K so scope for the remaining £4.5K to be raised by community share. The Community Share target for this phase is therefore flexible and will for the first time have a minimum and a maximum target. As we've targeted £20,000 through additional methods the minimum amount we want to raise by Community Share is £30,000 and the maximum is £50,000 this will allow us some flexibility should the targets for the other methods not be met. Alternatively if the other targets are exceeded we may be able to lower the Community Share target. If that is the case all current pledgees will be contacted with the full details of any revised offer.
Would be great to try and do it via one of the other methods though as it means there wouldn't be a future liability. Would love to see a few hundred people chip in a fiver or a tenner to supplement that small amount of people who have put in some large sums

Re: Raise the roof
Speaking as one who would have wished to sponsor a seat but who does not currently have a reserved seat in the stand at BMW, I have wondered why that particular method of raising funds has been extended a couple of times (now to the 25th December) with no offer in sight for those who do not yet hold seat reservations. I note that in all the time this particular pitch has been open only 101 people have taken advantage of it. Is it not time to throw this offer open to others, like myself, who would wish to contribute in this way. Another 100 persons at an average contribution of £50 would see the remains money required raised.

Re: Raise the roof
Only £4,860 to go! Wonder if we can get this done and dusted by the end of today?
Re: Raise the roof
Be superb if we could. The beauty of crowdfunding is that people don't even have to put in much - I'd imagine if everyone who looked at a Darlington FC website today chucked in a tenner to the Ground Development Fund we wouldn't be far off!Darlofan97 wrote:Only £4,860 to go! I wonder whether we'd be able to get the roof up in time for the York game? I seem to recall that's when the seats are hopefully going to be in. Would provide a nice little target to hit if it's possible...

Let's hope DJ can get on the phone and order some steel tomorrow . Seeing some progress at BM would give the club a much needed boost.
I see the community shares are now 102% funded. I wonder if someone from the SG could up the target on that scheme? If it looks like it's fully funded it may in theory put some off?
Also, those 39 who've invested in the community shares have put nearly £800 each on average in. Fair play
