Retrospective bans for diving from 2017/18
Re: Retrospective bans for diving from 2017/18
Tough one is it that common to need this change. I'll be honest the PL just feels like it is becoming more and more detached from the rest of the national game.

I think it would be better, if decisions were made by checking TV video during the game and sending off players that dive. That would put a stop to diving pretty quickly.

I think I like this idea - anything which acts to deter players from cheating can only be a good thing. I even see the young kids rolling around like they've been pole-axed on the local 5-a-side pitches where I live... copying off their heroes.
I'm dead set against introducing any kind of technology which will interrupt the flow of the game though - maybe ok if the 4th official looks at it on the sideline and has a word in the ref's ear while the game continues.

Just give straight 10 game bans retrospectively, see how long it continues

How does it apply to exaggeration?
Plenty of times a foul is committed but a player exaggerates the severity. Not a dive, but how do you measure whether or not they were in a certain level of pain at the time?

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

if it is the same as Scotland's diving ban it will be after the game not during the game. The GFA have a compliance officer whose job it is to punish diving and off the ball incidents the referee has missed.
In Scotland if a ref catches the dive it is a Yellow for Simulation, but if the compliance officer is involved it is a 2 match ban.
Exaggeration is still simulation.
