Re: Darlo v Whitby
Awkward singing a two-syllable '7'-0. It doesn't quite work. We need another goal.
Re: Darlo v Whitby
Sounds like a classic smash n grab... nicked 7 goals and hopefully with a backs-to-the-wall performance last 20 mins we can sneak this one.

We'll never see the likes again in our history, I guess.
Back in the 2012-13 Northern League season.
Last 32 games 27-2-3
I never thought moving up the leagues, we would have a season with a similar record. This seasons squad is amazing.
This has been a wonderful four seasons.

Can't speak too highly of the lads and what they have achieved, bearing in mind they have played the last eight games in 20 days. Absolutely phenomenal.

Yeah shoutcast is fantastic. Thanks lads. To say I'm pleased is a big understatement.

Bollocks. Wish I'd had a stupid £250 punt on us tonight. I'd be a quid better off now.

I, for one, feel terribly let down. Came up for three home games which we won by an aggregate score of 7-1. As soon as I come home they get the same score in one game. Harumph

Re: Darlo v Whitby
Hope the atmosphere is as lively as it was tonight on Saturday. Had to miss tonight so I hope I get it from then.
Champions, wow. I was happy for just mid table last August. Amazing.
Loads of people to thank, so here's a list
Martin Gray
Each and every player, many games in short time.
Management Team
Of course, the fans
Volunteers
Everyone involved in getting us back home
Special Thanks to
Bishop for all the times and memories made there
Spennymoor for their gracious actions that also made this possible. We should give back the favor and support their promotion campaign
Our best season in years. Champions and going home. I believe another book is in order, Mr Simpson

I don't know what the last 32 games of the Northern League were, but it would have been close.
I'm happy that we've had 4 great seasons in a row, 1st, 2nd, 2nd (promoted) & 1st, an amazing achievement for a reformed club without a squad.
(edit: I see you beat me to it with your 27-2-3, but here are some pretty colours...)
Some more sequences for the current season here

Re: Darlo v Whitby
What a start to a game that you had to win they could not live with the pressure we put them under.
Considering the amount of games we have played everyone looked up for it tonight and could have been double figures by H.T they came out second half and played some football because we eased off understandably.
I`m still buzzing and have to get up for work in 5 hrs but who cares what a night

Re: Darlo v Whitby
Wow, we absolutely steam-rollered them from the first second, we actually dominated more than the scoreline suggested first half. That's how to deal with pressure.
This is a massive achievement, the Northern League we only had one team to beat, this season we've been tested by everyone (except Whitby away) and passed with flying colours.

"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883
