Re: Lancaster match thread
This is gutting.
Sloppy defeats at Kendal and Clitheroe have cost the title, simple as that.

Jameson will probably miss the 2nd play off match, if we win our first of course.

Re: Lancaster match thread
In my mind we've had about as good a season as we could. When one team is able to transplant several players from the league above and win 16 out of 18, it's not a level playing field. We're clearly the 2nd best team in the league and I'm very hopeful for the play-offs.

Re: Lancaster match thread
Droylsden have been shocking of late, the likely hood is a play off show down against Spennymoor at Heritage Park, Still there's 2 games to play, let's go get 6 points just incase

Re: Lancaster match thread
I'm not down, we have so many thing to still look forward to... promotion is still in our hands really even if we don't go up automatically.
Win our last 2 games just in case and then win the other 2 in the play-offs don't need to rely on any other team just win them games.
Then we have next season to look forward to once we are back in Darlo and I'm for one is really looking forward to that.

Re: Lancaster match thread
Salford won 3-0 at Ossett Town four weeks ago. It's more realistic to look at the play-offs. I think Darlo should be much stronger favourites to win them this year than last year.

We only had to rely on ourselves.Darlobaz79 wrote:3mins to go for Burscough to score
You rely on everyone else...Burscough, your made up mental mate in the sky...that's weak.

Lancaster match thread
We had to win 3 games on the trot, now we have the win two play-off games on the trot. The play-off games will be against tougher teams but on the plus side they're both at home. Glass half full.

Re: Lancaster match thread
Warrington got stuffed at home do you think he was saving his players for tues not that it`s critical that we win it now
Re: Lancaster match thread
Playoffs it is then. Just hope that c**t of a referee from last year is nowhere near it.

Was the ref today not the same guy as we had for the playoffs last year?ian_brown wrote:Playoffs it is then. Just hope that c**t of a referee from last year is nowhere near it.

Re: Lancaster match thread
All it took was a firm kick from Portas and it could be a different story.....
Not official but it's likely. Play offs. I will be quite pissed off if the one time we lose to Spenny, if would be now. But I'm confident...unless Kevin Mulraine comes out and does another shite job.
Performance today wasn't too bad, just the final third, we didn't finish our chances. Biggest thing was that the midfield were way too slow today, and well away from their man half the time, which made it easy for Lancaster to stroll through often in the 2nd half.
As for Lancaster, I have nothing good. Time wasting from 10 minutes, is nothing but poor. Nothing to lose but the thrill and denying us a chance at the top. Fair enough, but let it be said I wouldn't feel sorry if next season they just somehow got that relegation....in short.....what a bunch of c****. Be good to see another team do the same childish tactics to them

Re: Lancaster match thread
Can't fault the effort of the players today. It just wouldn't go in when we were on top..
Whilst hugely disappointing, ultimately, defeats at Kendal, Farsley and Clitheroe have proved costly along with Salford winning the majority of their last 16 games.
We're still in this though. Win at Warrington and against New Mills and hope Salford slip up.
If not, then let's get ready for the playoffs and get behind the team.

We weren't bad today, just lacked a bit of an edge in the final third.
Very frustrating given we had plenty of chances but we're not out of it just yet.
Win our last two and Salford will have to beat Ossett Town. Yes it's a slim chance but given the pressure of needing to close it out, there's a possibility it could happen.
If not, then we'll have to go again for the play-offs.
