Are the sizes going to be proper ones, or if you are a 'L' will you need to order an 'XL' to get it to fit?

I hate to be a pedant, but they are horizontal stripes, not hoops. Hoops are unbroken and go all the way round.
It's a decent enough effort, though.

Are those sizes English, USA, or continental? Vitally important to know that as the tapered stripes makes one look more portly!

I do not want a fleet of Japanese whaling ships tracking my every move when I'm wearing one!

This is the best I can find in terms of a size chart:

http://macronstorewakefield.co.uk/WebRo ... Charts.pdf

Should be a bit better than last seasons in terms of fit!

agree with Quakerz, not very keen on it and would have preferred some thing more along the lines of 2004/5 kit or at least hoops and not stripes, away kit is ok, a lot will depend on the sponsor logo to see how it looks

The side panels confuse me slightly, from the front they are white, from the back they are black. And if they are half white / half black then It all seems a little too much.

Also, I don't like the white patch on the back, I'm not going to get a number as I'm not playing for the team so I'm left with a huge stupid white patch on my back. Numbers can easily be printed over hoops we've done it twice with Uncovered FC.

However, it's better than last seasons'.

The kit design is good, I am more concerned with who will be wearing them and so far I am very pleased with who we have signed up (contract or otherwise). I think we will be competitive in both NL1 and ESN.

Whoa what happened??

I was sent some designs the other day of what I thought was the shortlist and there was one on there that was absolute quality that everyone would have loved and that was pretty much what 'our' traditional kit should look like.

Then this appears.

Boo :(

I dont get why clubs don't canvass fans opinions more when it's them who will be buying it. Own goal IMO

home strips Ive liked are the one with Orange as sponsor, and the first one DBS were sponsor, designs similar to either would of been preferable (especially the away strip for the DBS one)

Especially as we're a fans club, we should have most definitely asked fans opinions before committing, and if we're paying for a bespoke design, surely keeping it simple is cheaper?

Care to share this amazing design with us divas? :)

The problem I guess this year is that there is so much else going on, Ive no problem with not getting to choose the strip, I just, unfortunately, dont really like the ones that have been picked.

The one I'd hoped they go with was exactly like that. 5 broad hoops that continued around the whole shirt and the thinnest red piping that set it off. Really simple but traditional. I don't know why kit manufacturers insist on making up these designs that have panelling to cut off the hoops?!

I think panelling is there as it creates a better fit for the players? but I assume it hampers the design a bit?

I'm informed the change in proposed design was as a result of the original kit manufacturer not being able to turn the kit round quick enough.

I guess it's probably more important to have something for the start of the season.

Hopefully the traditional design can be implemented for next year.

2004/05 is stand out for me - I fucking LOVED that kit and we had it for one season, and they started to get clever.

I would rather them get rid of the 2 stripes off the back tbh, the more I look at it, the more it looks kinda strange

I wasn't expecting anything more complicated than a plain white shirt for this year, what with everything that has been going on. It may not be ideal (although I happen to like both of them based off these pictures), but I'm sure for the following season we will have more time to get exactly what we want.

come on support the team, 1883 have been doing everything they can and at least the club is saved and you have a shirt to buy, you will have to let go of the hoops, its gone and this is the future dont keep going on about hoops your boring me now...yada..yada..

Only Joking but I thought I would give you a taste of my resent uncovered posting ;) . experience.

I dont mind the black and white one the red looks a bit Sunday league but may look smarter with DFC branding.

We knocked about similar designs from a number of manufacturers, and it came down to a combination of cost, quality and (most importantly) timing.

This deal is designed to be a transitional one - hoops are not standard (hence my "bespoke" comment) so have a much longer lead time.

In the future, this is exactly the kind of decision that we would expect members of the CIC to be making. However, this season, there simply wasn't time to negotiate, design, find supplier, negotiate again, poll fans etc.

Which is all completely fair enough.

The kit isn't for me though, I hate it. But you can't please everybody all of the time!

if we can get this kit on to historicalkits.co.uk will it help our case with the FA "see...not a phoenix!"

Personally agree with some sentiment here would have liked hoops all the way round...never mind though I can live with it and I will certainly be buying it.

Maybe we do a proper poll though over next season!? I mean if you give yourselves a year to find a new kit surely you can get a) an extremely good price and b) make sure it is available basically on the final day of the previous season. Obviously realise that there is plenty of other stuff to deal with but as a longer term workstream that ticks over in the background?

next item, pre-orders, will it be possible to set up a pre-order facility that way stock control will be much easier particularly at the start.

I think the red one doesn't look great at the moment because it hasn't got a sponsor/emblem on it - it will look more professional once that has been done.

I guess part of me is just glad that we're able to discuss a new kit - who'd have thunk it back in January/February time.

All that said, I'm so-so with them - I was hoping the 'return to roots' would have meant a return to the ISL-style 89/90/91 kit, which for me will always be the core kit, but hey ho. At least it's not 90% white with fiddly black and red bits on it.

How about the 1904 kit? Which clown decided to match blue shorts with a black & white chess board-type shirt?!

We're never going to please all the people all the time :D (sorry you don't like it though)

Personally, I'll settle for a kit which makes it in time for the first home game...!

Aye well you've got to be careful there...

The kit was chosen because we've been promised delivery a couple of days before the season, but don't count your chickens on that one. It only takes one or two delays.
