Long time no speak my mongoloid friend.

Just a quick drop by to let you know that I can always advise you on directions to Gillford Park should you require them.

All you have to do is ask. Nicely.

Lots of love to you from all at CUFC.

Hmmmm I detect a hint of sarcasm in that post. No problems with Gilford Park, at least they don't cheat to stay in a League, like someone I could mention. Enjoy Division 1.

You need to let it go Pete, 13 years of heartache is really holding you back.

I suppose with you being a part timer, you will be off to support Sunderland now then?

Signed Jimmy Glass after the deadline, who went onto score the winner which kept Carlisle up and sent Scarborough down not that its Carlisles fault the fa allowed them to sign a keeper due to having no others available, pretty sure we've been allowed to sign a keeper at some point after deadline day

If my memory serves me correctly, they sold their goalkeeper (Tony Caig??) on or just before the deadline and replacing him with a loan keeper for the remainder of the season, but the loan keeper was recalled by his parent club due to injury. I believe the rules allowed for a keeper to be signed on an emergency loan if a club's only keeper got injured, but it was felt that Carlisle had deliberately left themselves open to the risk of having no goalkeeper - i.e. gambled on the loanee not being recalled - and since the gamble failed, they should have had to take the consequences and not been allowed to sign another keeper. This is where th antagonism comes from.

However, the decsion to sell their only keeper a replace him with a loanee was reportedly taken by the chairman, who I believe was Michael Knighton, so I don't really understand the hatred towards Carlisle, especially from fans of a club that has suffered as much as we have from decisions of Chairmen

What it does show is how things can go so wrong!

Carlisle escape non league by the skin of their teeth, we both had nutty Chairmen but look at the difference now!

Technically, the way Pete's worded his post further upthread implies that he doesn't believe Carlisle cheated, so perhaps that Jimmy Brass wasn't such a bad guy after all...

By the way, Gilford Park were VERY lucky to stay in the Northern League - they had their share of landlord problems, including a time when they werent allowed to play home games?

Pete just can't get over the fact he wanted CUFC to go down.

Incidentally, Jimmy Glass was a terrible goalkeeper who never played another game after his goal. People never seem to mention the fact he was awful the week before when Scarborough smashed us 3-0.

Nevermind Pedro, I believe Gillford Park have now changed their name to Celtic Nation, maybe they will relocate themselves to Dublin and then you can tell people you have seen Darlo in Europe.

Just a quick drop by to let you know that I can always advise you on directions to Gillford Park should you require them.

All you have to do is ask. Nicely.

Lots of love to you from all at CUFC.
