I just have a question about the CIC and proof of ID.

As it is 1 member 1 vote that is all very nice, but there doesn't seem to be much stopping people from setting up multiple e-mail accounts in fake names and then applying under alias' - well I can't see much that will prevent this from being possible aside from possible similarities with postal address & phone numbers.

Just kind of wanted to see what is maybe been done to prevent this/is it actually anything to be concerned about.

I think my main concern is that people will be pledging money under alias' and then they will be made void and the money returned and that money could actually be vital to the club's survival.

I think you raise a concern which is perfectly valid. We are trying to strike a balance between making this process as smooth and effective as possible and getting all of the necessary administration in place to sign people up as members of the CIC.

It will ultimately be necessary to for us to verify that all members have full details on our database including name, postal address and email/phone details. This is not only legally necessary but is of utmost importance on the administrative side.
