I like a few others have done, had a stroll around Dean St the other evening.

I was happy with it and worried at the same time. The steps to the main stand are too steep for those who aren't too great on their feet. So hopefully we can erect an old persons stand somewhere. Someone mentioned to me, there was a rumour of a temporary stand being built and then us taking it wherever we moved to. That would be ideal.

The cover on the far side slopes very steeply down at the back. Given it's on a flat base, I don't think you'ld fit more than one row of people in it without banging heads off the roof.

At the entrance end behind the goal, there is a lot of flat unused space. This would be ideal for a) a small temp stand, b) the other things I suggested in another thread a marque bar, stalls and food facilities.

Now here's the other bit which I am torn about. The old cinder terracing is still in place on the other three sides, although grassed over. With some work (by us fans), we could remove the soil, and rebuild the cinder terracing. It wouldn't cost a lot. And would mean we would have two or three steps of terracing in places. This would make a big difference to atmosphere, and give a much better view if we have a biggish crowd.

Being cinder terracing, it wouldn't count towards the overall capacity of the ground, but it would increase the viewing comfort (unofficially).

One down side, short of following tornado about for a month, how could we get a load of ash to lay? Suppose we could perster the NYMR or maybe locomotion, but not sure how much would be needed.

Finally, i have some pics I've taken on my phone. Some more detailed ones giving a closer look to the terracing etc, i'll get these up in due course.

I am up for helping out.
No real skills but I could do plenty of other stuff.

Can't get up north for a few weeks though but I am sure there are enough tasks to keep us busy for several weeks to come.
Can we get access to the ground at any time?

Who out there would be willing and able for doing some work up there over the weeks ahead?

Would be good if we could get a list published so people would know where best they could assist.

Apparently, according to some, you'll only need four bus shelters to bring it up to football league standard. :o (sorry)
