As you know, Denis, Laura and Andrew went to Wembley to meet with the FA this afternoon. Denis said the meeting was very positive and they presented a good case but NO decision will be made on both the licence application and on what league we will be placed in until 26th May. If we find out before it will be a bonus and we will of course keep everyone informed.

I don't know anything else apart from this as I didn't go but if you have any burning questions. perhaps Laura or Andrew could answer them but please direct them to the 1883 forum.

Thanks
Tori

Other clubs will be affected as well, promotion/relegation may be altered depending where we are placed - won't it? So, the FA are potentially hampering the pre-season preparation of more than one club by this delay (if it is a delay that is, and not just an assumption that the decision would be made on Wednesday).

Would be a total kick in the teeth if after all that's been done in the last few months we weren't allocated a licence to play! Doesn't bear thinking about - too late, I won't sleep for the next ten nights!

That'll be the license that we had to renew after a certain someone said they'd pass it over but didn't, in the same way they said other stuff that they didn't do.

If they refuse us a license, then what?

I would assume we apply for season 2013/14 at a level , well we won't go there Quakerz, it's so far down it's in New Zealand!

I'm hoping that the licence is a given, providing we have somewhere to play, and can field a team (and pay them of course). Well I hope so at least - if there was any doubt I would have thought that 1883 would have mentioned it before. Actually, wouldn't the licence be included within the goodwill etc we purchased from Darlington 2009? Obviously not I guess.

I dont know anything, but for some reason with it being Darlo, the relegation issue and where we would play wasnt really that much of a bother for me, as the rules are already in place (I think) Its just the fact that without the golden ticket and having to apply for one, means that actually they can apply any rules they like :(

Its all baseless speculation and worry on my part, but I just cant seem to shake it for some reason :(

Your not wrong, I won't settle and think of any fixtures until we have ground ok'd, division sorted and licence to play.

Good thing is time says these have to be sorted sooner or later. (Seems to be later)

Anything involving Darlo at the moment concerns me! I do get the feeling (just a gut one) that we will be well and truly hammered by the FA, leaving us wondering if it was all really worth it.

the meeting was only today.

Do you really think that after the meeting with us the FA actually went into another meeting room and made their decision on the spot!?

This is not fact, this is my guess at future events.

We don't even have the licence sorted yet that will be the FAs first stop, probably a very long winded meeting held next week (not on a Friday, nobody likes meetings on a Friday). Once they have finalised the offer of a football share they will then have an idea in their head what league we should go in. I would assume they will say the NLP as that is the precedent.

The will then schedule in a meeting with the EvoStick League officials in order to finalise it with them, and see what their take is. If the Evostick won't accept our application it will probably be another phone call and speak with Northern League officials.

These processes are not fast, lets go into another room and thrash it out. They are long winded, nicely catered affairs.

To suggest that ANYBODY knows we will be in the NL is complete fantasy not a chance was that idea even conceptualised today, things just don't work that quickly. Meetings about meetings need to take place first.

Unless this person is Mr Bernstein himself, how would he know?

Massive amount of waffling for no end result.

To sum up in a couple of sentences - if the FA say we are Evo Prem, the Evostik can moan all they want but what the FA says goes. And there's a space there because of Northwich.

Yes, they might listen to the Evostik who will want us placed in D1N, but they don't have to.

It was meant to be like that...like the decision making, bureaucratic organisation that is the FA. The point being...a decision will not have been made today in response to a message which I would quote where someone said they had received a text stating for definate that we would be in the Northern League but it seems to have disappeared!
