This is an advert in Argentina, filmed undercover in the Falkland’s, with the tag line “To compete on England’s soil, we must train on Argentinean soil”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYP1JU2hr3Y

It’s incredibly distasteful and inappropriate given the tension around the subject. Wars have started for much less…

They've been asked to cancel it immediately. I really don't see the point in the advert....

George I know you’re a young ‘un but do you know the argies feel the Falkland islands are theirs not ours? And they took our land by force so we sent our armed forces in to regain control?

Every time Argentina is having a tough time the politicians in Argentina try to deflect the attention away from themselves by saying “grrr Britain is still occupying our land let’s get it back” and the argies all get swept up in it.

Now Argentina (like a lot of the world) is in recession. They look across to their neighbours Brazil and see they are raking in loads of oil $’s, then oil is found under the Falkland islands seas and they want, not just a piece of it, but all of it.

The point in the advert is to spread hate of Britain so that the Argentinean people will be more positive to an invasion of the Falklands.

The UN would never allow them to invade and if they did it anyway it would just be a complete disaster for their country. Not only would they be crushed but the UN would get counties to stop trading with them so i really dont see the point in them trying to invade

Yeah cos we got no navy or long range aircraft!

Still we got a nuclear sub down there and the argies don't like our nuclear subs for some reason!

To be honest we've still got more than what Argentina have. They've massively cut down their armed forces since the 80s through their own choice. They ain't in a position to invade again.

Nope, the exact opposite. By compete on England's soil they mean the Olympics in London and by train on Argentine soil they tool pictures of them practicing in front of Falklands landmarks.

This another subject I`m quite passionate about, I`ve been in lengthy discussions on a facebook with argentinians and done my homework before entering into said discussions so i could back up my facts.
There is no talking to them, no matter what you say, History itself shows who is in the right but apparently thats not good enough

You're right Charlie, at the end of the day it comes down to resources. The Falklands are sat on some, so the Argentines want it. No other reason.
