Isn't it a bit early in the year for them? I nearly stood on one at a roadside a couple of hours ago, and the dog has just been chasing one around the garden.

I encountered a frog by a roadside around 7:30pm last night. One of the dogs nearly shat on it. You don't live in the Cobblers Hall area do you?

I dunno why anyone would think the thread didn't have legs.

Oddly enough I almost stood on one on Longfield Road on Monday, I thought it was a bit early for them at the time.
