Got this email from one of their lads last night:

'Hi Nick

Just wondering whether you were still hopeful of being able to bring a team down to Cambridge on Saturday.

I appreciate that the distance, coupled with possible bad weather might make things tricky - but if you're up for it let me know and I'll get things booked from this end.'

I told him we'd let him know asap, so please state your availability if you haven't already done so.

Don't think this is a go-er for me, hell of a treck from Preston and most likely returning from uni this weekend.

My train for the NE is booked for that day, so unfortunately I'm out.

Hope we can sort out some games or more likely 5-a-sides over xmas when I'm back.

As it stands I thought this was off ages ago due to lack of info coming from them. I've promised to help someone move at the weekend now anyway so, in the words of Duncan Bannatyne, "I'm Out!"

Think it was always gunna be difficult to get people to travel so far for this one.

Try and organise a 5-a-side instead?
