What a great game tonight and well done to Hull KR on beating Hull. Let's hope Catalan can do a job on Leeds tomorrow night.

Been away a while. Yet another week in hospital followed by a few days at my static van where for some reason WiFi has been poor.
3 games since my last comment. 2 good wins against 2 of the top 3 and a close silly loss in London where we actually normally win so a hard 1 to take.
Only watched the Warry match on KRTV, but the change in style since Tony came in is clear to see. A close game, but in fact that is the 3rd time we have played them this season and while the scored do not always show it, all 3 were close. The first 2 we held them until 15 mins and 20 min's when they finally broke us down.
Thursday I was back in my seat and what can you say?
What an atmosphere and what a brilliant game. Purists may say there were too many mistakes, and I get the point, but how close were we in the first half so often to breaking through and only stopped by last ditch defensive efforts bu the dullers.
Second half I thought we totally dominated and thoroughly deserved the win.
Had to laugh a Duller fan went online moaning that "We were clearly suffering from jet lag" !!!! It takes me about 3 times as long to get home from games as it does teams to get back from Perpignan. Not exactly a long haul flight is it.
3 out of the last 4 we have beaten them and boy they do not like it !!!!!

As to the rest of the week/ 3 games since I was last here, The league table looks a lot happier for us. Hoping for London and Leeds losses today to help but I am still convinced Udders are the ones going down.
We have 2 trips to Wigan in the next 5, but apart from that the only side we face that may be a banana skin is Rob's Cas' and they are not exactly throwing up any trees.
Top 6 still a strong possibility for KR.

I'm working in Bradford again this weekend, so depending on the time I finish work on Friday evening, I might just drive over to the DW. Ed do you fancy winning at DW on Friday night?

They beat us by a drop goal at our place a few weeks ago in a game we dominated and should have won. We are a far better side now, but they have gone on a win run so confidence will be high especially at home.
Side note, we either beat Wigan or get tonked at their place. We really do not need our points difference getting any worse.

I presume you'll be going to the game Ed? If I can make it, then I'll PM you and perhaps we could have a pre-match drink, I'll be the one wearing a Wigan top, haha.

Not fit enough for night time driving at the moment I am afraid. Radio for me. Maybe will manage game number 3 against them on 9th August if you are still in the area.
We still have a few home games as well if you fancy.
My grandson is not well and waiting for an operation so my grand daughter is not going with me for the next few games.

Ok no problem Ed, I probably won't make my mind up whether to go or not until Friday teatime. Hope your feeling better soon and things go ok with your grandson.

There is nothing much wrong Pete. Just a number of issues that are stopping me sleeping. I am lucky to get 2 hours a night.
The operation on the 8th of July is to scrape my right shoulder joint clean because of arthritis. I had the left 1 done a while ago and that is still "healing" this means I go from 1 side to the other every 20 minutes because of the pressure pain.
Other various small issues just leave me worried about driving when it gets dark so I have stopped doing it unless I get a good night the 1 before.

Ok well take care and hope you get better soon. I will have to make a decision about going to the DW on Friday evening at teatime, depends how work has gone during the day. We'll catch up with each other eventually, haha.

Yes it did. I have seen them play 2 ways, either quite well or very poor. The very poor is far more often, as in the last game they won I was smiling as it was Dull 55-2 at magic.
They also have a nasty run in. Though most are at home they have to play all the top sides.
I have said they will be bottom all season. See no reason to change just yet.

What a great match last night at Wigan, well if you are a Wigan fan like me. Even the Hull KR coach Tony Smith wanted to concentrate on the brilliance of Wigan in his post match comments about the game. Ed you say that Hull KR are not a hit or miss side, but your last 2 matches would seem to indicate that you are. Probably 300 Hull KR fans made the trip, although a good few of them didn't stay for the full 80 minutes.

As I said, we either win at Wigan or get hammered. There is never an in between.
Does not help when the first try (the throw over Shaws head), was so clearly forward, but that would be grasping at straws.
Still in our own hands. Win at Leeds next week then our 2 home games v Udders and Wakey and it will all look a lot different.

You got a penalty when your player had clearly pushed our player and you couldn't breach our defences when you had an extra man. At the moment our defence is superb and it comes as a shock when you managed to score 2 try's.

Pete you need to learn the rules mate. The "Push" you refer to and the subsequent penalty was because your guy changed his movement to block off the path to the ball. It is called obstruction!!!!
We seem to sort of agree on 1 point. It was good to see us get over the line at the end. It proved heads were not down and we kept plugging away.
Some of our defending was shocking. Linnett pulled inside and Shaw going with him led to 2 open tries for wingers not challenged at all as they strolled in. How on earth you were allowed to break through the middle so easily was another worry.
No-one has beaten us 3 times this season. It will be interesting to see how it goes in 3 weeks time, and yes, I will be at that 1.

Ed excluding the magic weekend, how come Wigan and Hull KR play each other 3 times and yet other sides you only seem to play twice. It's a bit unlucky Hull KR having to face Wigan 3 times.

Lam given a one year extension at Wigan, which given our form seems to be a wise decision. But the loss of Sarginson and in particular Williams will be a big loss next season. Good to see Hardaker is getting better and better, his kicking last Friday was brilliant, sorry Rob.

The replacement for the 8's. Each side plays either 2 home and 3 away or 3 home and 2 away dependant on league position last year. We also play Leeds and Udders twice away with London and Hull at home. We then had 3 games with Salford as well because of magic.
You would need to look mat last season league to work out exactly what the permutation is for Wigan.
Personally I do not see why we don't just increase to 14 teams. Home and away and magic. 29 games done!!!!

Yes it seems very complicated and I agree expending to 14 teams would make more sense, but when does sense ever come into it, when we are talking about the Rugby League authorities?

The stupidity of these people really holds the sport back. They are in it simply for the free wembley trip and ego's.
I would have loved to see Hearn team up with the good Dr Koukash and run the game.
For all people have a go at him Marlon loves the game. Has great idea's. And has been prepared to put his money where his mouth is.

Certainly a good set of results for KR this weekend. Funny week. We have only won 3 times there in SL yet I was entirely comfortable all week we would get the result.
Defensively we are like rabbits caught in car headlights, which is not a shock considering our record this season but I hope a couple of you taped the game because if you did you would have seen some superb rugby going forward from us.
What a night for Danny Mag. 400 matches and motm by a long country mile. Talked to a number of Winno's fans who still say they should not have let him, Garbutt, and Keinhorst leave. They were also spitting blood about the Parcell/Lunt swap. Now I know Shaun and his family quite well, and he is a lovely lad, but I have to say, (when you consider it was Leeds that insisted the players be allowed to play against their parent club), what on earth were they thinking? Everyone and his dog knows Shaun will not regain full fitness until he does a full winters pre season.

Another interesting set of games next week. We have my favourites for the drop, Udders. May be hard for you to understand as they have beaten us twice so far this season,(in fact we managed to lose rather than they manages to win both games), but I can't see them winning more than 1 more game, if that.

KR? Still say top 6 is on.

Bad result for Wigan but not unexpected against St Helens. Where is the game against Huddersfield home or away? if your at home then you should win, but if your away, then I fancy Huddersfield to come out on top.

Home. we have been there twice and lost both. Still struggle to work out how we lost the first in particular. Football similarity would be scoring twice then putting in 4 own goals before scoring again.

Great win for Wigan last night against a poor Wakefield side, but I guess you can only beat what is in front of you. Strange how Rob has stopped posting on this thread. Even when Wigan were bad, I still posted on here, perhaps Rob is a fair weather fan?

I do not need to post on here all the time it may be your obsession Pete it seems to be so, so nothing strange as far as I am concerned.
But here we go, Tigers are in transition at moment and until Luke Gale returns I expect we will finish 5th or 6th, hope that helps you sleep well tonight DP
We have both been on DU for same period of time ie since 2013, you post nearly 12000 times to my 683, says it all mate !

Very very low after yesterdays shenanigans. Again the game of rugby league gets dragged into the mire by stupidity at the top.
In case you did not hear. we had 2 lads on loan from Warry. They did a month then it changed to a week to week basis as is the norm. Once it becomes week to week there is a 24 hour return clause. Again, bog standard.
Warry recalled the 2 lads at 10 am yesterday saying it was more than 24 hours before their game. So having trained with us all week been involved in the plays etc they suddenly can't play. All this so Warry can rest players for the cup next week. Worse still, having been recalled, Johnson did not even make the Warry 19. Why was he recalled and not just Linett?
When you add to that St's have said they are playing a virtual reserve side v London and Hull also intend to "rest" players v Leeds, also for the cup, you can understand why we are feeling a tad picked on at the moment.
Level playing field? Did you see Purcell being dragged round like a rag doll by his shirt last week at Leeds? Out for the season and though a penalty was given no further punishment.
The game last night? We were unbelievably flat considering it could have virtually made sure of safety because of remaining games between all clubs and got basically what we deserved. How on earth can we go from the beautiful game we played last week to that?

And finally, to answer your question, yes, I doubt they will win again this season. They really are poor.

Warrington were really bad and that shouldn't have happened, but I guess that shows what sort of club they are!!

Both sides were poor last night, but Huddersfield did show more than Hull KR. I am surprised that you still fancy Huddersfield for the drop, when they win at Salford and then over your lot. I think Wakefield are in danger of being dragged into the relegation bun fight.

Stunning victory for London Broncos over St Helens, even if St Helens fielded a weakened team. It's going to be a real fight to avoid the drop.
