Are you going to the magic weekend Ed, bit of a trek getting over to Liverpool?

Looks like the Magic Weekend fixtures are weird, apart from the Warrington v Wigan match their are no derbies, The usual fixtures are mainly derbies which helps attract bigger crowds. I'd be very surprised if the overall attendance is anywhere near the figures for the previous years on Tyneside.

I normally do the full weekend but am only going on Sunday this year. The seats in the KD stand are way to narrow, and the disabled in the Anfield rd end are a disgrace and I am not going to put my health at risk. I am ready to bet not 1 person watches all 6 games in the KD.
We are up first on Sunday so I shall watch that then see how I feel as the day goes on.
Tomorrow is in front of the TV day for me.

I was furious to read this from this man. When he came in I hoped he would be a breath of fresh air. Turns out he is more of the same.
They were warned people did not fancy Liverpool, I know fans from virtually all clubs who booked Newcastle who are still going there to watch on tv because it is a better day out !!!!!!
All he is saying is that fans opinions do not matter.
HOW DARE HE !!!!!!!!

Well that's shocking, treating the fans as though there not human and their opinions don't count for anything. Hopefully he'll be rewarded with a record low crowd, but sadly I think it returning to St James Park is a bit of a long shot.

Have to say, I am not over excited about any of the games this year. I did not like us always getting Dull because we play them for a charity friendly as well every year and it tends to get too much, but sick to death of Salford, and the other games don't really get the blood pumping.

100% sure the 2 days will be less than last week at Barca.

Yet another impressive win by Toronto at third placed Sheffield 14-42, at times it looked like men against boys. Can't see anybody from the Championship challenging them for promotion to the Superleague.

No-one will. They have a no limit budget and full time players. They would be bottom of SL.

Wrong Pete, for the first time in my life I really wanted the Dullers to win. Starting to be a gap at the bottom, and I still say they are the worst side I have seen in SL in years.

Was 10 minutes after the end before I remembered to breath again.
What a good game.
I have said all season if we have our pack on the park not the treatment table we can take anyone on.
That is twice in 3 weeks we have done Salford and they are no mugs.
Leeds were lucky. I felt sorry for London. Think they may be gone now. Totally believe 16 points is safe and as we play both Leeds and London at home reasonably confident we will be safe.

Didn't look that many to ne honest, I think the magic weekend in Newcastle attracted a few more, but not many more. So there's probably not going to be too much of a demand for the Magic Weekend to return to St James Park.

I slightly over did the total. There was 10000 less.
The total is 8,000 down on last year, and the second lowest since Magic started.

Ps, Joel done 1 game for a neck stretch that was totally accidental. He tackled Inu who twisted as they fell and wound up under Joel who clearly made an effort not to land on him.
How the hell can you get done for a total accident?
Pauli and others start swinging fists yet nothing. How do you throw punches by accident?

Well that's good news on the crowd front, hopefully they'll switch back to St. James Park next season or do you think the Rugby fans have had enough of the Magic Weekend?

The Rugby League authorities are a law unto themselves, does anybody know what they do that is good for Rugby League?

Elstone talked a good talk when appointed, but bluntly the whole lot need binning off.

Re' magic and Summer bash, I like the concept, and have made contacts at a few clubs over the years, and I note the Aussies are bringing it back next year, but they really need to listen to fans.
Liverpool was a silly choice. If they want to "Grow the brand" then why have it on the doorstep of St Helens, Warry and a few others? That is hardly expansion. Add to that we knew for months there was going to be roadworks round the ground and there was also the marathon going past the ground, just WHY?
I hate SISU but Coventry have a good small club in an area that is sports mad, and the place would have been full both days. Newcastle Thunder made sure they had a home game on magic weekend and did free entry to anyone with a ticket for magic. Had a boost of about 2,500 so made a good amount on the bar and food. Surely that is what we should be looking at rather than stick money in Liverpools pocket.
By the way, BOTH DAYS, they ran out of food and booze. Apparently they did more than they would to 2 liverpool games both days and it threw them.
I would have thought people being in the ground up to 8 hours and allowed to drink pitch side should have rung a few bells.

Food for thought!
Anyone trying to use the drop in crowd at Sid James tip is being silly. You have to take in who is there.
First we lost Bradford who travel well, then KR were missing and took over 6000 to Blackpool while Leigh took all of 200 to Sid James.

What annoys me is that the concept is to attract new fans and help lower level clubs.
Newcastle make sure they played the night before magic, had free entrance if you showed weekend passes for magic and made a mint on food and drink. Great work by them.
How on earth is taking it to 8 miles from St's Warry and a few others going to take it to a new public? Surely we need to move North and South of the M62 not along it.
Lets give Birmingham a go. Choice of grounds, Coventry could do a Newcastle, and a great night out in town. Leicester is another. OK the games would have to be played with crowd in mind so you do not have all the top supported teams on 1 day, but it is another good city for a night out.

Gutted to have lost tonight.
Poor not to cross the line when they had 11 on the pitch but to go in 2 tries down was hard.
22-0 down with 18 to go who would have given us a chance, but we ran them close.
Sad to say the game left a bad taste. Again, you do not like to have a go at ref's but without even talking about the rest of their game their last try was so easy to see it should not have stood. Their lad out jumped Shaw but the pass away to Austin was so clearly forward it beggared belief that the ref let it go.

Who do you fancy will win tomorrow between Bradford and Halifax? I'm actually working in Bradford this weekend, just round the corner from Odsall, I'll have too avoid driving round their near kick off. I think Bradford will prevail with home advantage.

Bradford. You should go if you have not been before. What a stadium !!!! Past tense. Bit of a wreck now and spoiled for Speedway returning by the new stand, but go look and think of 120,000 people in a hole in the ground. Love the place.

Won't be calling you mystic meg anymore. I had to work I'm afraid, but I was close to the action and I could hear the roars as Bradford scored, have to admit that I was surprised Halifax won. Good luck to then in the semi-final against St Helens, I suspect they'll need it.
