Borisland!!!

Post by Fatty eats roadkill » Sat Nov 23, 2013 2:11 pm

It's a joke!!!!!

Took me the same amount of time to go from kings cross to chiswick than it did Darlo to kings cross!

The transport budget for London is £2.5k per head compared to £5 in the north. What's he spending the money on apart from cycle routes?

Take a wrong turn?

Pretty sure it took me about an hour to get out to Heathrow last time I had to go in that direction.

Nope. Huge queues at the ticket office for the tube at kings cross and only two windows open. Northern line was shut to arsenal game but loads of fans trying to use other lines therefore huge queues from the entrance to the tube. Operating difficulties further perpetuated the problems.

Why were you queuing for tickets?

Ah well a learning curve! I tend to just get a zone ticket added onto my train ticket when I go down to London saves the hassle. Have a feeling it might be a little bit cheaper as well though not sure.

Alternatively I use the automated machines?

You won't have a chance to go to a window shortly if last weeks reported changes go ahead!

Just found out by my mate whilst waiting for a bus that if I use my contactless bank card then I get a quid off of my bus fare.

Fuck you Boris.

Tell me about it.

Got three nights down there in January.

She's paying for the hotel this time though.

PS. Only problem with using a contactless card for fares is it doesn't stop being charged when the daily cap is reached. (Not a problem if you are only making a couple of journeys.)

Is Boris having a further laugh at my expense after closing all the booking offices on the tube?

What a c***!!!!

Maximum daily spend on the buses with an Oyster card is £4.40. Once you reach the cap any further journeys are free. Similar with the tube, Overground and DLR, although the daily cap is higher.

I don't really understand your recent groans - well except prices, but what do you expect really? I just tend to try and find a Sam Smiths pub to keep things economic!

The simple fact of the matter is time is money. If you use contactless/Oyster you are saving TFL a fortune over the cost of handling cash and the time of entering PINs/printing tickets etc.

It's the future I am afraid, but don't worry smart phones will eventually give you everything you need...

Even with prices, places like Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh and even Newcastle are not that cheaper than London anymore.

Tell me about it. Bought 3 pints of Peroni in Floritas on Friday and it was over £15!
