Re: The Ashes
This Test is unbelieveable and could go either way.
tbh I wish Agar had got a ton.
Very interesting two more days to come

Re: The Ashes
Terrific first two days. From an entertainment point of view it would be nice if it continues like this for the whole series (with us winning of course)

Have you been listening to the Aussies on 5 live just now? They seem to be putting the hopes of their sporting future on his shoulders.
Slightly embarrassing but I suppose no different to how the British behave.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: The Ashes
The Trottgate scandal could end up costing us the match, that's my fear tonight. The wicket will obviously continue to worsen over the next three days which could swing it our way once again.

Er, no, three days to come if it lasts that long. Could be all over today if it carries on like the first two days though.comeondarlo wrote:This Test is unbelieveable and could go either way.

Re: The Ashes
Really on a knife edge at the moment - if KP and Cook could've stayed in beyond lunch and taken us through to 200 I'd have been extremely confident. Could go either way now though and is all hinging on whether the middle and tail end can hold some semblence of composure for the rest of the day.

Re: The Ashes
What do we reckon is a good total to leave them realistically? Over 250 could be difficult but I'm hoping we can get near the 300 to allow Swann to do his stuff as the wicket should be dusting up come tomorrow.......
Re: The Ashes
If we get a lead of 250+ we will win and swann will get 5/6 wickets.
Massive if though. Another 125 runs required .

Re: The Ashes
250 is an absolute minimum, and SHOULD be achievable. Bell sounds like he's getting the groove.
300 is desirable, and I'd fancy us to win tomorrow if we got there.
Does anyone know what the situation is with Stuart Broad? Is he ok to bat?

Re: The Ashes
Apparently yes and may also bowl, looks like prior is taking it to them, a nice quick ton from him would go down well!!

Re: The Ashes
Just as we look like we are taking control, we lose a key wicket!!!
Prior was a key wicket IMO, as it stands the Aussies are favourites!
We need a ton from Bell and the lower order another 50 odd between them.
I agree with Spy, 250 lead and it could either way. 300 and we're favourites.
Come on England!

For those that aren't watching.
There has just been a decision that evens up yesterday's decisions!
Lucky pretty boy! Could be a game changer.

Re: The Ashes
261 lead, reckon its enough but would be nice to bat till just before tea then rip through them and remove that bloody spinner for a duck to win the game by a 200 margin, not sure they would recover from it in the series, always a good sign to see Bell scoring runs, saves relying on Cook and Trott but I still see Cook getting the most runs in the series
Re: The Ashes
Funny you say that. On Thursday when we got the 9th wicket I typed out a smug post referencing my earlier post saying our 215 might not be such a bad score.comeondarlo wrote:I'm dying to post something but don't want to jinx it!
I deleted it, not wanting to look a twat if they had an outstanding last wicket stand.
How right I was (again)!

Having played village cricket for many years, I can't condone the Broad decision but it happens. Awful umpiring. Just trying to imagine Ponting reaction in that situation.

Re: The Ashes
Bit of a shocker by Broad and the umpires, I know it's for the greater good but he really should be ashamed unless he honestly did not realise he hit it which I find hard to believe.
Still lets turn the screw and destroy the convicts big time

I didn't see the Aussies all telling Trott to stay put when his wicket was given.Bogratsteve wrote:Bit of a shocker by Broad and the umpires, I know it's for the greater good but he really should be ashamed unless he honestly did not realise he hit it which I find hard to believe.

Broad edges and walks, great 65 from him, helped put us in a winning position, fabulous ton from Bell also
