BDO darts

Post by Fatty eats roadkill » Sun Jan 06, 2013 4:19 pm

Painful!

Even "world champions" throwing 24 dart legs. Still at least you'll get your monies worth due to the length of time the games are taking.
Waiting for Raj to shaft them!

It really is poor isn't it?

Noticed the massive drop in class yesterday. Saw James Wade watching in the crowd too - he must be laughing his tits off.

Fucking shocking!

That Dave Prins who played yesterday is ones of my mates dad....he bigged him up then when i watched the match...........jesus wept. Sure they just rounded up a load of lads out the pubs, gave them a dart set and a push towards the dart board.....

It was really good, the atmosphere was prob one of the best Ive ever seen and everyone was having a laugh! There wasn't any big names but I managed to get my photo taken with Martin 'Wolfie' Adams in my Darlo shirt.

Very poor standard, thats why I only watch the BBC2 nightly highlights. Only Scott Waites, Wesley Harms or Christian Kist would even have a hope in the PDC

It is true that PDC is wayyyyy better than BDO thats for sure! Ive never seen PDC live but I was chatting to some avid dart fans last night and they said that even though the standard of darts is better in PDC you have better atmosphere at Lakeside (BDO) and thats why they continue to go year in and year out.

Each to there own Dave and if you paid fifty quid and had a good time then its money well spent. I've never seen much of the BDO only the PDC...been to Winter Gardens and the heat was unbearable due to the aircon not being switched on as it affected the flight of the darts...

Flicked on late last night for the highlights, like others I prefer the PDC, but that Richie George vs Dekker match was a brilliant watch.

If you ever need a reason why BDO darts is piss poor, this is it....

Van Gerwen lost the PDC world final with an average of 100.66. Waites won the BDO final 7-1 with an average of 86.43

PDC have to start somewhere though and to be fair BDO doesn't do too bad in the grand slam considering they're not professional professionals.

It was funny watching o'shea knocking a bottle of beer back with darryl fitton in the break.

Didnt most of the PDC players play in the BDO first though? Taylor, Barney, Beaton et al? The way I see it the BDO is a stepping stone for part time players to go professional if they are good enough of course. They have to start somewhere!

Part, Priestly, Deller, Anderson, Whitlock, Webster...the list goes on, the vast majority did.

I go to a few PDC events and whilst, yes the standard is far better, skys coverage and experts are great - there are too many danny dyer wannabees in the crowd these days at the PDC events - id say around 60% just go for a piss up they dont even watch the damm game, dont give the players the best of order and it pi***s me right off - i bet the couldnt name the last 5 winners of the world championship or who won the grand prix last yr.

Dont get me wrong i love having 5 or 6 pints, do the old planet funk when they go for a break, but jesus give the players the order they deserve.

BDO wins hands down in terms of the crowd.
