Hi does anyone know of a website with info on fromer Darlington players or can supply me with some info?

I am researching Whitby Town FC and know a number of Darlington players have either progressed to you or have left and come to Whitby over the years.

This season we have Nick Liversedge back with us. But in the past we have had:

Andy Toman, John Borthwick, Mitch Cook to name but a few.

Good luck this season.

Regards,

Lensmeister.

Don't forget Mark Sheeran - he ended up at yours didn't he?

What are you after, playing statistics or what they are doing now etc?

Hi,

Mostly I would like, # of starts, # of Subs appearances and # of goals by season.

I suspect many of them would have been in reserves or Juniors (or in "A" teams, showing my age now).

But in generalany thing would be good.

I know Toman is Seaham Manager, Cooky is Scarborough Town's Director of Football.

Nick is with us this season.

Don Burluraux is now retired and has a website about walking in the North East.

Kevin #Burgess is with us as well.

Soccerbase is probably going to be your best bet for stats.

The only one I can really comment on is Nick Liversedge (the rest are a bit before my time). He signed his first professional contract for us on 2 November 2007 after having been involved at Rotherhams Centre of Excellence before that.

He was actually studying at Sunderland Uni before signing for us, and was adamant that he should finish his studies before signing for us - which I believe he did. So prior to him signing in 2007 I believe he was at the club on a non-contract basis.

Cheers Hilly.

Soccerbase is ok, it doesn't always have the Cup games correct sadly. I found a few errors with some players at other places :(

Again thanks for the info :)

He came on loan in 2004 and played three games :)

Andy Toman is no longer Seaham manager - he resigned at the end of last season. I think he manages the Academy at Middlesbrough College.

Commiserations. Exactly what division do you drop in to once you drop out of whatever division Whitby are in?

This was a post for helpful info. Nick was good at Whitby whilst on loan with us and I suspect he will be with us again. He may be the second keeper as we have David Campbell a long serving player of over 420 games.

I believe Phil Owers who was a keeper at Darlo in the seventies also went to Whitby Town. He was famous for letting in seven goals on his debut.

I have no record of him at the club. I will double check.

Thanks :)

Do players at your level not put crosses into the box, or take corners, or free kicks, or shots or headers then?

He is fooking useless.

Come back when you know what you are talking about and not before.

Well thanks for that. I thought that Darlo was one of the teams in the North East with a decent set of supporters.

Why start flaming me on here? I fail to see what you hoped to achieve in it.

I am not interested in your personal view of him, I am interested in info on ex Darlo players for research.

You asume I don't know what I am taling about. I have been involved in football at Premier League level to Non League football for over 30 years. I am pretty well qualified to talk about football than most.

To be fair, Quakerz, I remember you getting in a strop about some fans on another board (I forget which one), when you went on there, asked them some fairly standard, inoffensive questions and a few of them got uppity with you. You seem to have just done the same

Maybe Liversedge was good at Whitby - you can't blame the man for thinking he might do well again.

Not possible. Liversedge is, was, and always will be, gash.

No, Darlo in general is followed by wankers.

Flaming? I was simply correcting you on Liversedge.

I gave you info on him - he is sh**e.

I know you don't know what you are talking about. Exhibit A - "he was good for us before". Case closed

Quakerz went to the grand total of about 2 games last season, so I wouldn't pay too much attention to his review of players from said season.

I attended a few more than that.

However am I wrong? No. You can see how poor he is on match highlights too, looks like a schoolkid as the ball is crossed in.

Thanks Magical,

I have used that one many times. It only has league games which surprises me. It's a good starting point though.

Soccerbase is a good site too, but not always 100% acurate. ;)

Thanks

In fairness given our cup record there won't be many appearances and even less goals to add in for cup competitions!!

Just add 1 appearance for the FA Cup (and no goals) and 1 for the League Cup (or 2 for when it used to be over 2 legs) - again with no goals!

Keep going like that & you'll end up another old cynic, like so many Darlo fans before you
